Will tickets sell out even faster next year?

Just been going around the different major festivals boards, and there seems to be general admiration for the festival, with the comment of "Might try Glasto instead next year" following.

In terms of last year, its been quicker and its been slower. 08 restored a lot of confidence. I have a feeling 09 is being portrayed as a big success, and coupled with evident failings of the other major festivals, 2010 could see a return to the tickets selling out within hours scenario

Could be right. Next year will be the 40th anniversary too so I think a few folk who maybe havent been in a few years might want to try to get a ticket too. I can see it being handbags on ticket day.

If they have the same deposit scheme again, which I'm sure they will as Eavis viewed it as a massive success, then we should have no problems booking our tickets in September...... I hope.

The deposit system was designed to make it more affordable to people. If anything, it increases demand

This is the only prospect that makes me glad that I wont be going for them on T-Day

Back to 4 tickets max per application should ease the pressure & stop a lot of the large groups of loutish behaviour, sealing off thier own little sites.

Wish they'd put them on sale now, other than the fact I'm skint after what I spent this year!

Is it just me that always forgets they don't take credit cards, but by some fluke have enough on my debit card?

I've an idea, lets start some negativity threads about this years festival ... hang on, I've been beaten to it!

I've heard too many people saying they want to go for the 40th anniversary who have never even been before!!! If these people get tickets and I don't I will be unbelievably annoyed!!

As it IS the 40th year, people who went this year should have priority

Think V do summat like that, where if you went to the festival you can book tickets for next festival 2 upto weeks after the event. Though Eavis may want a different number of people to have the glasto experience

I dont think anybody but the most hardcore Glasto goers even start to contemplate it Sept/Oct..so if the scheme goes ahead again I reckon the commited ones will get in..I do agree there ought to be some sort of loyalty preference though

Why should there be loyalty preference? That's just cliquey - it should be open equally to everyone who fancies going, regardless of how many years they've been going.
