Here's an idea then. How about someone who's good at these sort of things make a flag or something like that for singletons to gather around. It would be good for singletons to meet others in the same boat then there would be no worries about being alone for any that may feel that way.

Is this a good idea ? If its a s*** idea then give me a bollocking :D

Is anyone willing to make a flag, banner or focus point of some description ?

If enough peeps think it is a good idea, but no one wants to make a focus point i'll have a go. Normally i'm shit at that sort of thing but will do my best if the interest is their.

So feel free to leave your opinions on here and lets see where it goes.

I was with him for 9 years and have not been single since i was 16 so its the first time i will have done anything like this as a singleton.

Im looking forward to it though especially since I have red all the details about the meets which sound brilliant

I cant wait its going to be huge

I've had a bit of a bad track record with ex girlfriends and Glastonbury.

The first year I went (07) I went with my ex, we had split up around February, we agreed we'd both still go, in fact we were friendly enough to share a tent for the weekend, wasn't probably the best idea, we both got a bit pissed off with each other and whilst we spent most of the time together (probably a bit too much time together, ahem) we did go off on our own.

Last year I went with a different ex, we had split up around 5 years ago, and we actually are still good friends, luckily for me, the others we were sharing a tent with and her had very different ideas about bands to see and stuff to do so we all went our seperate ways for the majority of the weekend, occasionaly meeting up for something to eat and bits like that.

This year however is different, whilst I am going as a single again like the other two times, this time none of the exes are in tow, in fact I have a nice little tent all to myself and I don't have to worry about appeasing anyone else and just enjoying myself

When i suggested a singles it was meant to be a meet for single peeps, but i think like someone else said u'd get blokes turning up who were at Glasto without their gf s. The thursday singles meet sounds good to me, but i ll be at any meet at any venue to meet any people. Lookin forward to it so much and if i only meet 1 or 2 people off efests it will have been worthwhile. Really surprised me how so many people have replied to this thread and how you are all so positive its making my situation seem much easier. Thank you to all that have sent positive vibes a really great bunch of peeps.

Hope this don't sound to cheesy i'm no desperado just lookin to meet up and have fun. ;);)

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
