Emily Eavis interview

What about the Klaxons?

Imo it would make sense as I would say they are bigger than the libs....

It is their only scheduled UK festival appearance, although the announcement of the Coventry gig has sparked rumours that they may make a special appearance at Glastonbury, which takes place on June 26-28, especially as they are supporting Blur in Manchester that weekend too (June 26).

Yeah, but I still think The Libertines fit the bill better, no matter what Emily says.

But apparently Kerrang have a hold on it, and they say it's a huge act. Muse would fit the bill. Kerrang always have a hard on for them.

i went off looking, supposedly this mr. x put it in a forum, but hes like supposedly a member of the band or someone in the label, like he released a few snippets before a early muse album few years back and hes qutie credible? so friday special guest park stage? 26th?

Was just going through the photo albums for the latest festival line up editions on nme.com when i came across this:

"Klaxons singer Jamie Reynolds described his band's performance at Glastonbury 2007 as "the happiest day of [his life". So expect an unnanounced appearance at the festival this year, possibly on one of the smaller stages." - http://www.nme.com/photos/festivals-2009-t...ons/125624/24/1

I think this pretty much confirms what everyone was thinking on the previous page about klaxons playing, although i believe they will be one of the special guests on the friday, not the staurday as they are by far not big enough in comparison to the claims emily eavis is making.

Everyone seems to think this special guest emily eavis is on about is happening on the saturday, but there was nothing said about what day the special act is on.

Surely if this band is massive and would cause health and safety issues if announced, they would be put on when people dont expect them to be on,like first special guest slot on friday?.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
