perhaps anyone who is unhappy with the slow leaking of bands/acts playing should just hand their tickets back before this weekend

its just a few bands playing in a few fields after all.. nothing else to see or do and certainly not anybody new and interesting to meet whilst there

be a good set of girls and boys and ring seeTickets up to let them know

Your problem is that because there are no bands that you specifically like accounced, you have bitched and whined about it because you are not getting your own way. The fact that thousands of people are very happy about this do not matter one jot to you. I have no doubt that if you could have the line up changed to suit just you then you would take that option, and to hell with the fact that thousands of other people's enjoyment would suffer.

This is because you are a selfish, spoilt little brat. Deeply unpleasant qualities in a person.

Oh bugger must have mis-read that bit or just completely made that bit up. Anyways not askin you to reveal who the act was but would you been impressed if the act had of played??

my own tastes don't really come into it .... I doubt I've seen five acts on the Pyramid this decade.

The act were more than suitable to be headliners - that's really all that needs to be said.

If 1000's are pleased then why do i see countless threads on this forum full of people saying how unpleased they are?

And its nothing to do with MY taste just looking and seeing that glastonbury is bound for another Amazing lineup for the Dads and Grandads going to glasto with a piss poor attempt at pleasing its younger audience.

the Dads and Grandads may quite like Boston - then you would be happy n doubt

ARGH! I don't understand what is wrong with some people. This is not the 'Glastonbury Complaints Forum'. I'm sure that if you want to air your grievances against the current line-up rumours then you could take it up with the festival organisers. The impression I get from this board that it is the place people come to get excited about the festival, not the place to hear people slagging it off constantly.

actually can we ban the word headliner from the forum it really annoys me its loads of musicians playing in an organised order - the last act i saw one year was hazel o'connor (who had nearly lost her voice) who played the theatre marquee to about 40 people at about 1am - so maybe you could say she was the headliner lol

What? No 4th Headliner? Sod that I'm off to Reading with the young 'uns to watch the Arctic Monkeys!

Only joking I'll be bustin' out my bus pass and my Zimmer with off road rubber feet and slowly making my way down the front for Neil Young.

Just hope it's not muddy I'm not sure my slippers can take it!

...ah but you've not said they haven't either

....whether I'm reading too much into it, but with this announcement on the day of the reading/leeds tickets going on sale and what you've mentioned in the past of them tightening the exclusivity clauses that would apply to their headliners; would perhaps give me the inclination towards radiohead or arctics.

It's nothing to do with personal tastes but for an international festival it's headliners should at least give a nod to what will be a huge chunk of the punters. These acts are supposed to be the pinacle of the festival, yet to a lot of people they would struggle to name anything of Springsteens or Youngs.

Last year when people were complaining about Jay-Z, I feel it was because most people at the festival cannot relate to that music. There's little about 'them' in it. This year same applies. A huge chunk of people will be young, say 16-25. They were kids when Blur were at their peak and not even born with the other 2 and yes some may like the acts but there is nothing that is 'ours'. There will be countless acts that are on other stages but not where it really matters, where iconic moments are had. The Pyramid Stage. God even an 'oldie' like Morrissey would have got a better reception on here as he just feels more 'relevant'. Young and Springsteen feel very old indeed.

Personally I am a bit gutted, I like being able to watch the headline act at the biggest stage at a festival in the biggest crowd. There is something about it you don't get at other gigs or places. I won't be seeing any of the main headliners this year, maybe Blur if the alternatives are piss. I know I'll have good time but the saying 'Glastonbury isn't about the line-up' is very true, it has to be

*all my humble opinion of course

presume away - I'm giving no clues one way or another. So if you think you have it nailed with what you say above, you might be spot on or you might be totally wrong.
