What are the things you love or hate about Festivals?

I love to go, but hate coming home.

Anything you need to get off your chest.

I love the variety of bands in one place. I love the fun and the people and the randomness and the happy vibes.

But I hate having to drink real ale or proper cider out of a bloody paper cup!

I hate people who push their way to the front, standing on your toes and elbowing you out of the way in the process.

I love finding a band you wouldn't have heard of before that you love whilst chatting to a complete random about absolute rubbish.

Pet love: Beer/Cider in a paper cup. It's an awful drink but it says "welcome home" to me.

Pet hate: People who think that you need to have the same festival experience as them in order to appreciate it.

I love starting threads asking what bands will be playing & asking if wotsthernames will be there.

I love the freedom Glasto gives you and the energy it exudes, I love the fact that 99% of the people are on your level and everyone is your friend.

I hate the mission from the car/coach to the spec you end up pitching at & the hill of death.

I hate crossing my fingers hoping it won't rain and I hate Monday morning .. packing up & going home.

I love the atmosphere and choice in music.

I hate the first five minutes of waking up in a baking tent with a case of Ghandi's flip flop in my mouth

I think the worst hate, is waking up to somebody being sick right outside your tent and then you go back to sleep forget about it and then in the morning you step in it. EERGHH!!!!

I love that moment when the tent is pitched and you look out over the festival wondering where to begin

Love: Being able to just sit down next to a bunch of randoms on your way back from getting food/going to the loos/whatever and spend a while chatting away, having a smoke or whatever.

Hate: International ticket collection, flags in front of the stage, umbrellas, girls on shoulders.

I like having fun.

I dislike carrying my stuff there and back especially up and down c**t hill.

Love: Sitting on dry ground watching happy people go by.

Hate: Getting caught in the big crushes on the bridges (which aren't so bad now with the current stage locations).

Love the moment when the tent is finally set up and we can go 'into town' and walk around.

Hate it when some pillock trips over the guy ropes.

I hate dealing with siblings and friends towards the end of the festival who start to get pissy because of lack of sleep.

Love the excitement that builds for a whole year until you finally get there. Glasto eve is the closest adults can get to that Christmas eve Birthday eve feeling when you are a child!!

Hate getting home having the first shower in 5 days then sitting down and realising it'll be another year before you can experience it all again. Glasto Blues.

Hate sunday evening/monnday morning knowing its all coming/come to an end.

the first view of the site from the car/bus

the first sip of cider after the tent is up and surveying the site in the sun

the cheers at sunrise

how everyone is so friendly and having fun

Hate:

when all the tent come down on Monday

pack tents in the rain

going back to reality

people who wash their wellies when people are trying to brush teeth/get a drink of water/ wash hands

Love people watching, not having traffic lights and getting away with not conforming to society.

Love the lead up where you get together all the stuff you'll need...wet wipes, alcohol, tent and the like and when you meet everyone in the early hours of wednesday all excited and load the car up with everyone to set off. We normally get a Glasto cd made for the trip with all the tracks that remind us of happy glasto's past.

Love the stone circle on the first night when the mexican cheers and waves start and having one of many burgers from that wholesome vegan burgr van place..

Love the bit where you take your tents down on the last day and stand in amazement at the little squares of green grass where the tent has been where all around you is mud (at this point we normally all scramble to lie down on the dry green bits)

Hate it when you are getting ready to watch a band and some group of bastards push past almost knocking you over then put up a flag and start sitting on shoulders....grrrr

Hate it when you get home and all you can smell for days is the remnants of bonfires, sweat and cider as it comes out of your pores !
