No need to get cross - I'm on your side in this battle remember! What I meant to say was that he didn't play it once amongst the 54 songs he played on the UK and Ireland bit of the tour. Looking again though I would say you were lucky to catch it as he only played it twice on the first part of the US leg of his tour and only played it in Madrid and Bacelona on the European leg and then only twice more on the second leg of his US tour - playing it only 6 nights in 62 means my general point still stands although my facts may be a little loose!

Never been a big fan but as he's supposed to be Saturday night headliner I thought I'll have a listen. Got a hold of the best of cd and if that's his best then I would hate to hear his worst :P

Sounded like a cross between Huey Lewis and Meatloaf.

No idea why folks would get worked up at the thought of seeing him but no accounting for individual taste.

Did hear some folks going on about how his shows lasted up to 4 hours, which would be a bloody awful prospect.

Give him the oldies slot on the Sunday afternoon and get Radiohead or Muse to give Glasto some quality on the Saturday :P

Its a trueism at this stage mate, but you really have to see Bruce and the ESB live before you can dismiss him. Totally different animal on stage than on record.

"10th Ave" on record for example is dreadful whereas live it is one of the best tracks you'll ever hear.

Thanks for that. Had a listen and confirms my worst fears from post #1. Are there people out there who will seriously look forward to watching Springy at Glasto. Can understand playing at a footy stadium when all devotees can go along but my oh my strange choice, especially if Ny is also another of the headliners. Nothing will compare to 2003.

    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
