funny how a thread on 'how bad Bruce is' turns inevitably into how f**king amazing he is... especially live!

all you lot who think he's old hat, sounds like Meatloaf or Huey Lewis (or whoever), or simply don't get it... and don't take up a golden opportunity to see him.. well, it's your choice

Whilst I totally accept that Red Day's comments were made slightly tongue in cheek, it's blatantly obvious that he's ABSOLUTELY GUTTED radiohead won't be playing on the Saturday night hence the verbal diarrhoea style assault on Springsteen. Hard lines matey. Better luck next year.

Awful to some - to others he is (almost ) God ...and whether you like him or not he is not a awful or poor artiste ...just not to everyone's taste

I have seen Pink Floyd in ALL their variations since 1966 and a couple before they were the Floyd

Whilst this is a digression from the original ( troll ??) thread i could not help myself on this one ...

..factually you are not quite correct . Gilmour was brought in to supplement the band as Syd was already beyond playing on a regular basis ... there was hope however that Syd would continue to write SOME of the Floyd's music ... but even in those days Waters was trying to be the major influence - that is way he is

Gilmour was approached and courted by Waters ...FACT

If Gilmour had not stood firm on the direction the Floyd were beginning to take under Roger then they would have gone long before Waters 'left'.

If Waters had got his way then PF would have been no more than a Roger Waters ego trip ...vis his solo production after he left

It is also worth noting how much of his own stuff he plays on his solo gigs - very little .... no one wants to hear it ...even though SOME of it has merit

Waters became almost insignificant without Floyd ( until he started playing 'his' Pink Floyd music) ... they continued and progressed without him

The Wall however will remain one of the truly magnificent works of all time ... and a true testament to his skills and vision

In a way you are correct, I would love Radiohead to play but that said I'm going to Glasto, I'll have a great time and honestly don't give a monkeys who's playing.

As long as there's cider they can shove any has been on the Pyramid :D

THIS IS A FACT ......taste in music is like so many things in life so very subjective ...just because you do not like Springsteen's music does not in any way mean that he is awful ..... you don't last as long as he has if you are awful

Have you seen him live - I believe not ... so you are simply not able to pass comment on his suitability .... he is without any doubt one the best live acts of all time ...even people who do not 'like'

Springsteen will agree on that.

.."but this is Glasto" .... absolutely ..and that is why it should benefit from the presence of one of the all time greats

Thankfully your absence will mean more space for those that do want to see him ....and thankfully - because Glastonbury is what it is there will be so many alternative for you to enjoy
