Rage were only on the Friday because Metallica are bigger and both are headlining bands.

RATM only played Friday so they could play Leeds on Saturday to be back in Washington on Sunday for a rally....

Well im back from my winter break of efestivals

Radiohead huh, not bad. They fit with the other "legendary" bands.

slim I think ... they were defo in the frame, then they didn't want to do it. But as the fest didn't (I believe) get Green Day as expected there will have been a slot to fill, and perhaps Radiohead got persuaded to fill it.

Yup I post for about a month after the festival then leave till around this time, Just in time for the rumours. Still havent decided if im actually going for lucky 7 this year, im in the process of buying a house

Is it me or does Radiohead just think they can boss the festivals. They did something similar with Glastonbury last year didnt they, Wanting to play, then complaining. It would be nice to have them but im sure FR can find another headliner just as big.

no there doesn't. The idea of there always being a "heavy Sunday" is a myth - sometimes it is, but not always.

Right...so if you look at every Reading line-up for at least the past ten years you don't notice that the Sunday is collectively heavier than the other two days?

(Although all the bands on the Friday in 2003 were suitable for Sunday)

Fair enough. Even before Download came about there wasn't a great deal of metal on the Sunday.

Wow! I made this thread October 08. Looks like I might have predicted a random headliner. I really hope they play, wouldn't care about any of the other bands if they did. RADIOHEAD RADIOHEAD RADIOHEAD.

I have found Radiohead boring since 'OK Computer'...which seemed to be the turning point for them. I think they've disappeared up their own arses since then.

'The Bends' is good and 'Pablo Honey' is alright...the only two albums of theirs I ever listen to.
