Agree. The logistics just would be too much as they would headline and wouldn't get their kit off site until Sat morn before a journey over seas/ set up/ sound check/ show.

Got the ability to have a stripped down version I suppose for the Fri night but guess they would want the full all singing all dancing rig.

i have it on quite good authority that their being lined up for a gig in hyde park in the summer under some sort of live nation banner (wireless/hard rock calling)

they very well might - but they are just about confirmed for wireless (not really a festival - just gigs in the park) as well

i did a little digging

and i dont believe depeche mode cannot move their set from prague to somerset to paris

its much closer than the boss' plan Bilbao 26th to somerset 27th (according to the very strong rumours) to bernidorm 28th surely as people seem to proclaim him one of the greatest live act he must have some sort of decent stage rig? i don't know

it seems a cop out to say they wont play due to travel its a tour thats what they do generally to save money or make the most however you want to look at it

Also there doesn't really seem to be much of a slot for them, Friday other stage headliner is bound to be a new/young band, kaiser chiefs seem to be directly below Neil Young, Depeche Mode are surely too big for 3rd on the pyramid?

The Springsteen dates are at the end of JULY, I believe Glasto is at the end of JUNE...

There's no date pressure on the Springsteen schedule at all, but for Depeche Mode it means doing Prague > Pilton > Paris back to back. For that you are looking at air-freighting all their kit, at least for the journey to the festival. Not impossible, but much pricier than going by sea.
