Sensational weekend! Home knackered but happy :)

Top 5 musical highlights were Bad Manners, Human League, Idlewild, The Xcerts and Candi Staton.

The weather was perfect for the burning of the big man and fireworks last night. One of the best burnings ever!

Thanks to all the lovely efest people who camped with us as well as everyone who popped round to say hello :) Roll on next year

i had a great time. :O

hopefully go back next year.

i only seen idlewild, luva anna and a few people on the acoustic stage. it was all a bit messy.

that weather was f**king awful on sunday! we had to pack the tent up at about 9am cause it was blowing all over the place. my bus wasn't until twelve so i ended up sitting in a two man tent that one of our camp had left, with two other people, all of our stuff, a guitar and a bongo drum! with the tent soaking wet and falling down on top of us. don't know why i'm not ill after sitting in wet clothes for about 6 hours.

Not sure what you are expecting treacle, it's a one stage, 1 1/2 day festival (14-15 acts at most) with 1/3rd announced already. 7 weeks to go and going by past couple years these are announced after Belladrum as that will be dealt with 1st. With a couple big names still to come!

Just got my ticket for 2010, can't wait! Been a bit of a coward and paid the six quid for unlimited showers though.

Trying to put the convincers on a few friends used to TITP and RockNess to come along - any info that'll help with this?

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
