You've answered your own question: just go to The Temple, it's the best venue there by miles (I usually spend most after hours either there or Arcadia generally). Top tip: there are usually queues to get in at the entrance facing the railway track. Just walk around to the other side and there is another entrance that rarely has any queue. I have spent hours in The Temple and this bit of knowledge has allowed me to go back and forth to the toilet all night, passing the queue at the front each time.
  2. Getting out was a farce last time. We were booked on a coach around midday, so we got some food and sat around our tent doing nothing for hours. When we turned up, turned out they were operating a total free-for-all system so we then had to wait for a couple more hours in the queue.
  3. If it makes you all feel better, I was at loads of the sets that people regret having missed.
  4. There was an early finish in The Park on the Sunday in 2013 prompting rumours that there would be a secret set. By all accounts some punters turned up... and nothing happened.
  5. My huge prediction is Wet Leg for BB Introducing.
  6. Thanks for this (been on hols so only just seen it)!
  7. Is there any info on any the other (as opposed to Other) headliners? JP, Park, West Holts? Am a bit behind as only got a ticket yesterday. Think I've seen Little Simz and Bicep touted for WH. Supergrass look a good fit for JP to me.
  8. I'd have to go for Friday generally, as it's generally the freshest you can be while still having a full day of proper festival. The amount of Sunday mornings I've woken up thinking 'I can't do this' and then it's ended up being the best evening though (honourble mentions to the Chemical Brothers and LCD Soundsystem).
  9. You should be okay in a hoodie. Pretty sure I've walked back in daylight before in a t-shirt (depends how well, er, fortified you are).
  10. 2004 was a great year - Chems, Orbital and Basement Jaxx headlining the Other.
  11. War on Drugs are playing Bristol the day after Glastonbury.
  12. I always come on the Thurs afternoon -try and keep my powder dry... well, damp anyway.
  13. Cheers mate, I've noticed I've been a bit quiet on here recently. I suspected it might have been because I was too busy with work - but I've now realised it was cos I was psychologically preparing myself for missing my first Glasto since 97!
  14. We should a virtual meet in real life at the festival. I've never been to the efests one as I've only ever done the Weds once before. Something like Supergrass would do the trick I'm sure.
  15. I put Suburbia by the Pet Shop Boys then Foals on the Park stage on full volume and had a good sing. I was still quite pissed after going to Fabric last night. Then I passed out again.
  16. It's a well-known fact that most kiwi efestivals live in the brewery in Hobsonville. Opposite problem here - bit gutted that the wife can't make it as she is using up her hols to see her family for the first time in over two years (they live in Hobsonville - obvs).
  17. I'm still fuming about the £1.79 my mate persuaded me to part with for a Refreshinator. As far as I can work it did absolutely fuck all. It was still hammering away 10 mins after it sold out on Thurs, like one of the soldiers hiding in the Vietnamese jungle in the 80s unaware the war finished years ago.
  18. I'd already resigned myself to not going and that I would have to 'just' take Primavera. I was going mental this morning with the music blaring. However, I went to Fabric last night and I was still pretty pissed.
  19. Not sure if it counts as was on the line-up, but Guilty Pleasures band opening West Holts in 2007. They had a succession of guests come on and sing covers. The Magic Numbers did either ABBA or Dolly Parton; one of the Marleys did Charles and Eddie; Guy Garvey; Suggs finished it with Love is in the Air. Then it pissed it down for three days.
  20. My mate got in this morning and got all the remaining ones we were after. That's the second time in a row I've got lucky in the resale.
  21. Trying for 4 tickets and not a thing. There were a few more from our group (who already have tickets) trying for us too. So: 0/4.
  22. Is it possible to buy multiple coach tickets on the same booking from different locations? I don't reckon it is. Ta!
  23. I think we all know it's Wednesday (still not over it).
