I used to take this approach too. I couldn't see the point of missing bands in the day in order to stay up dancing around to Queen at the wine bar with my mates. However, the night part of the festival has got so good now that I somewhat bizarrely take way more class As at the fest than I did 20-odd years ago.

Weekends, let alone a bank holiday, would be a bad time to announce anything generally. People are busy, out, not watching telly or online as much, so you won't get much traction. If anything, it would be an ideal time to try and bury some bad news!

Yes, that is correct. Also, at the Other you tend to get people who are there specifically see the band, which isn't always the case at the Pyramid (bar the headliner slot).

Cheers, not much to upset me there. Grew up with Massive Attack - but they bored me to tears last time I saw them at a festival (Glasto).

Friday is a good slot for them I reckon. I'll usually bang up for it on the Friday night and need something a bit more pumped up. Hoping this will go down much more like their Other sub slot than their Pyramid one. Re Antidotes, they played Olympic Airways at their 'secret' (and rather truncated) set.

Don;t be put off by the big crowds on the outskirts gawping at the spectacle. One you get into the centre, there's a surprising amount of room (generally).

What;s this Arcadia rumour then please? Pardon me but I'm a bit behind with it all. Someone just said the crane is going (good riddance). Wouldn't this be very easy to check? Last time I walked the site (hi, Stu M), most of it was still sitting there in the field. I took a photo and everything.

Yeah, I usually go to the Temple opening party which is early evening on Thurs with the wife. When they open the doors, everyone charges in. Hold on, there are some pics on Facebollocks...

DJ Derek was all about the Minidisks. I've had that chatting to him outside while having a fag experience - please to report that he stayed in character and kept the Jamaican patois up throughout.

Also, if you have a headliner at West Hols then go to the SE Corner that night, as ever if you leave at the end, you will be ahead of the masses. (If my headliner is at the Pyramid/Other, I generally head to Arcadia that night.)
