  1. Pricey but highly desirable! We manage to achieve cold cans of lager until Monday with 2 x Coleman Xtremes, a large one in the car and a smaller one for the tent. Couple of beer runs and sorted.
  2. There were shops selling the milk rather than the trucks going round the campsites which was a shame. I didn't actually see any of the shops but the @Glastomilk twitter provided a location map.
  3. Ha, I wish, Jetboil is pricey but very good, although my old trangia never let me down either.
  4. Berocca + SIS Hydation tab + Water Painkillers (if neccessary) 1 x Tea (Jetboil) 2 x Coffee (Jetboil/Handpresso/Illy pods) Bacon Sandwich (Jetboil skillet) Followed by 1st Kronenburg/Cider
  5. Might explain the noise?
  6. Oh God you're right. And what if it's wet, there's nothing for that either.
  7. Yeah nice GFS run at last, looking forward to Gavs 1st forecast now.
  8. Yeah I think Jon Hopkins is gonna be a must see for me. Four Tet and indeed Bicep on the Sunday are ones who seem to be well thought of but I don't really know them. It was the same for me with Justice when they finished off West Holt's fairly recently, hadn't even heard of them before the festival but can't bare the thought now of not seeing them and are now always part of my listening. Panic now starting to set in with required research time for acts (dance and everything else!). 3 year break has made it even harder. I use Glastonbury partly as my yearly anti "losing my edge" tool!
  9. That does sound very tempting and Friday night so far for me is looking like good night to forego the main stages. Caught Jon Hopkins last time at both BBC introducing dj set and West Holt's headline. Love his stuff, worry slightly with dragging others along as some might find his stuff a little more challenging. Chemicals bound to please all if its them. Never been to a set at Arcadia but doing so during headline time seems like a good idea.
  10. Ok so I'm 50 now and not up to date with almost all the djs playing this year, would anyone be kind enough to give some recommendations from the line up based on my taste. Back in the 90s for me it was mainly techno/trance with a bit of hard house as well. Examples of stuff I enjoy include Underworld/Orbital/LCD sound system/Chemical Brothers/Hardfloor/Justice/Jon Hopkins/Deadmau5 (his more traditional stuff)/George FitzGerald. Always a sucker for anything with a 303 acid bassline as well. Want to try and plan one day/night around glade/Arcadia/se corner but always seem to end up somewhere a little too drum and bassy for my taste. Although to be fair I do like drum and bass as well!
  11. P20 is the nuts but I just can't bring myself to purchase sun cream this early. Like crisps (but for different reasons) no more than a couple of days before holiday road.
  12. If you're looking for the ultimate and money is no object then the combo of an helinox cot one + a decent SIM i.e thermarest mondoking or exped megamat 10 is as good if not better as a home bed. You would want to be a regular camper to warrant splashing out on these though.
  13. They tested that out at Glastonbury 2005 at 4 a.m on the Friday. Worked a treat.
  14. Hmm having a similar dilemma on pac-a-mac Vs poncho. Anyone found the smallest of both when packed away they can share?
  15. What do people decant their glass bottled spirits into? Is there any advantage to using a posher bottle than just a reused mineral water type plastic bottle? Will be adding tonic/ice and lime separately. G&Ts will just be a campsite tipple for us.
  16. One of my absolute favourites as well. Also my favourite curry to cook. Found the Matakatcha recipe online here https://www.irishbeef.co.uk/recipe/makatchas-indonesian-beef-rendang/ Festival version is shredded and the recipe remains whole pieces but can be broken apart if desired. Wonderful.
  17. I'm really just looking for a safe space to wear my cargo shorts in.
  18. There's a moment at festivals where at the start of the day someone in the group picks up their bag for the day. Another group member who doesn't want to take a bag spots this, looks at the bag, then looks at their own "stuff for the day shit". Eye contact between the two people is then made. Both have seconds to decide how things go from there..
  19. F me, its in landscape format, my poor wall!

    Glastocam!

They should just drag it into Paines Ground, if the council object they can say its in Dairy Ground. The resulting confusion would drag on for years.

    Glastocam!

It's now in the perfect position to finally answer the question of which festival trolley is best.

    Arcade Fire

It's today! Guess we'll all find out the new layout in a few hours time. Will be crawling down from Chalk Farm tube all afternoon so as long as we make to get there before they take the stage we're all in for a real treat. Enjoy all.
