  1. Correct. We left the Pyramid field after De La Soul to get some food and a pint in the market area and as we were doing so the heavens opened big time....managed to run back to our tents in Hawkwell, but couldn't work out why Rudimental weren't on stage as we crossed through Kidney Mead and over the top to get to our camp. Then hid there until it was safe which also meant we had to listen to Lily Allen screech for a while until we departed to go and see Jurassic 5 at West Holts!
  2. Game changer mate, you won't regret it!
  3. When me and my mates (who I've been festivalling with since the late 90s) all had them at BoomTown in 2019, one of them got up the following day and just said 'where's that tent been for the last 20 years?!'
  4. 2007 was a lot worse than 2016.
  5. Men walking around with bumbags across their chest look like twats.
  6. Yeh I agree with most of that, people just seem to want everything quicker and in more detail....dunno if the two enforced fallow years are a cause of it being worse as I'm noticing a lot more impatience especially on here, and no sooner is one area announced then everyone starts shouting they want the next one. Reality is, once you give them it once they then expect it every year afterwards.... First year I went (2004) the entire line up came out about 3 weeks before the gates opened....didn't bother me in the slightest!
  7. There is a story behind this which I think we are all waiting to hear....
  8. Imagine if this was 2002 when they dropped the entire line up a week before the festival started. πŸ˜„
  9. Sorry just realised I never replied to this.....do you mean you have NE coach tickets? they will go from Gloucester Green, last time I got the See tickets coach it went from outside the Playhouse on Beaumont Street but not sure it that's still the same as this was in 2015....
  10. I was working as a teenager too in my first ever Saturday job at a Tesco in Oxford, my mum drove me to my shift and there were no cars about, in fact there were probably more cars about during that first wave of COVID than that day. I used to work something like 12 noon-8pm and I served barely a soul all day. Perhaps it was because you were in a tourist area, but I can assure you Oxford city centre had virtually no one in it!

    Glasto Vlogs

Listened to all episodes over the last couple of weeks at work, v good, decent range of people you've interviewed and how you do your Glastonbury. Really enjoyed the episodes with the volunteers and Kaptin from BoomTown. Like others have suggested would be good to get a trader on to speak to about how they do things....maybe an artist that's played the main stages too? Also perhaps someone (again plenty that frequent these boards) that have gone consistently since pre-super fence and how they've seen the festival evolve. One small, small thing I noticed (having just listened to all the episodes in a short space of time) is Jessi keeps forgetting when her first Glastonbury was, sometimes she says 2008, then 2009, then her blog which I checked out says 2009, then it goes back to 2008 again in the podcasts. πŸ™‚ Look forward to hearing more before the festival this year. πŸ™‚
  12. bin that mate and get a 'fresh' one.
  13. Agree. Three friends of mine bought Fresh and Black tents off the back of me getting one and having a much more comfortable festival at Truck in 2019 (which was very hot)
  14. Usually for me, as I'm always so pre-occupied with football, once the Champions League final is done then I'm all about 'music, music, music' Got Liam Gallagher at Knebworth on 3rd of June, then a stag do the following weekend 10-12th June, once those are both done all the focus will be on to Glastonbury, in fact on the 18th June I've marked down on our calendar as 'Glastonbury prep-day' for me so my gf doesn't book anything in!
  15. The street food market I occasionally go to in Oxford on my lunch break gives you more food if you pay in cash!
  16. In terms of the line up 1994, 1995, 1997 & 1998 were all spot on for me....I can recall seeing the one for 1999 and being a bit underwhelmed by it. I've got the 'best of' Glastonbury 1998 on my Sky box and like to air it fairly regularly. I've mentioned this a few times on here, but 1999 and 2000 I should have gone to....summer of 1999 I turned 18 and as a collective group all of me and my friends decided the big end of college/a-levels thing was to go to Reading Festival, which was fantastic and I had a great time. However, I also had a Saturday job at a local supermarket and a group of guys who worked there were all really into music and a couple of them had gone to Glastonbury in 1998 and now an even bigger crowd of them was going in 1999, they invited me, I looked at the line up and decided 'no' and dismissed it completely. Although funnily enough I was with one of them when he went into HMV in Oxford to get his ticket...simpler times! The same crowd then went again in 2000 and a few just went on the Sunday to jump the fence for David Bowie and offered to take me but again I turned it down (no idea why?!) By the time 2002 rolled around they were all finishing uni, or had just done and were on a gap year travelling so none of them went, for whatever reason no one bothered in 2003 but by that time I was watching it wall to wall on TV and decided 2004 I had to go and now not missed one since. πŸ™‚ So, for the pure carnage I wish I had been at 2000 (and should have been!)
  17. Still another month for our coach times! 😞

    Glastocam!

I visited the site on the weekend of 23rd/24th April in 2016 and nothing had been started at that point and was still completely open to the public....think they started the build a couple of weeks later.
  19. Think that was the time I saw him too...2016? Was early evening on the Sunday IIRC.
  20. When I went to Reading Festival in 2014 it was overcast the entire weekend, absolute bliss. Didn't see the sun once, didn't see any rain at all, dry conditions, not too cold as there was a cloud cover, not too warm as the cloud blocked it and you got to sleep in your tent beyond 9am due to no sun coming through (pre fresh and black tent era) Was great. πŸ™‚
  21. One year at Reading I didn't go in the arena at all on the Saturday and another year one of my friends was only in the arena about 15 mins the entire weekend
