  1. It's a mix of bands and DJs - some of the details leak out nearer the time, usually via Secret Glasto etc. Loyle Carner played a slot on Friday (after headliners) last year, as well as Lynks, and (I believe) a Let's Eat Grandma DJ set. It was nigh on impossible to get anywhere near the tent (although the general Park/Arcadia crush at around that time didn't help I suspect).
  2. The car park for Sticklinch is in the next field - its a 5min walk from the furthest tent to the car park. So "as much as you can carry" could easily be done every morning (or more often than that)!
  3. He's supposed to be doing: Saturday Park headline Saturday/Sunday Temple TBA - 03:00 to 04:30 Sunday Greenpeace TBA - 15:30 to 17:00
  4. Just had my Worthy View/Sticklinch accomodation ticket - via email from See Tickets.
  5. I was kind of convinced that Wet Leg would be put into a big Pyramid/Other slot - after the hype last year, awards won since then, supporting Harry Styles until a few days before the festival, then having a free weekend.
  6. It was when the lineup first came out, yes! Sounds like you need to hit the bar next to BBC Introducing after hours - was a big indie disco (certainly on the Saturday) last year. Also a bar by Leftfield was being talked about elsewhere as an indie disco by night…

    The churnups

Woodsies can be closed off if needed, so can take a headliner-size act.
  8. I think the consensus after last year’s crowd issues, is that the really big draws can only be on Pyramid, Other or Woodsies (access to which can be closed off if needed). So that rules out a really big act on The Park (unless the secret is kept well enough to really restrict the crowd). But Woodsies would be doable.
  9. Vampire Weekend were also a TBA in 2019 - opened The Park one day.
  10. No idea - there wasn't a stage called The Hive last year, so am guessing it's new?
  11. I don't disagree on the loss of Williams Green, although there do seem to be more smaller bands in a few other places - Strummerville being the obvious, but also Greenpeace and a (seemingly) new stage called The Hive.

    The churnups

Isn't the "Dave Grohl is in the area" thing, much more likely to be that he's drumming with QOTSA? This was supposed to be the plan last year (for 20 years of "Songs For The Deaf"), until things changed.
  13. This. The Amazons would struggle to draw a significant crowd in any of those 3 specific slots, even if announced now! Let alone if announced on the day, so limited to a crowd made up of people who (a) like them, (b) hear about it in time, and (c) are willing to sack off whatever else they were doing to see them. BBC Introducing seems FAR more their level for a secret set.

Pulp, Foo Fighters - this sounds like a no-lose gamble to be around the Pyramid at 18:15 Friday then! Heads you win, tails you win...
  15. The main one (obviously being worked on a lot at the moment) is here: https://clashfinder.com/s/g2023
  16. Well they say that Glastonbury is not just about the main stage(s), and that's never more true than this year! Very underwhelmed with the newly-announced acts for the Pyramid and Other stages (Pulp excepted of course). Moving to 7 acts per day on the Pyramid (from 8 or even 9 on some days) is cost-cutting extraordinare - coupled with already-known things like no Williams Green (and no obvious replacement). Then having people like Rick Astley and Sophie Ellis-Bextor on the main stage at Glastonbury - feels like something you'd see at MUCH smaller festivals (and they have all been doing this in a semi-ironic way for many years already). But on the plus side - look at the DJ lineup on Friday around midnight! Carl Cox and Faithless in the Glade, Four Tet in Block 9, Annie Mac in San Remo then in Shangri-la, The Blessed Madonna in Block 9 and Shangri-la, Chemical Brothers at Arcadia - just incredible. Think I'm going to have a couple of nasty clashes (Pulp vs Courteeners; The Hu vs Viagra Boys vs Slowdive) - but then lots of time where I'll be none too fussed about seeing anything in particular, so will get out and have a wander. Not a bad thing at all...
  17. I can well imagine a TBA secret set at opening time on both the Pyramid and Other stages...
  18. I'm going for 9:30am - same as the initial lineup poster.

    Blur

It's also the 30th anniversary of MLIR - being reissued and all that, and lots of revisiting some of the more overlooked songs from that era. Show last night was incredible - they seemed to be loving every minute of it. Here's Parklife, with Phil Daniels:
  20. Dave Grohl on drums for Queens Of The Stone Age - like in 2002. Dua Lipa with Elton John (and then headlining 2024).
  21. Completely agree with this - and at least some of it will happen. Looking at the original poster, and taking off what's already been announced for elsewhere, there are 27 acts left that are presumably on the Pyramid or Other. Which means there are about another 20 to be announced for those 2 stages. Plenty of delights to come!

    The Park 2023

I thought I'd seen before that Sparks were playing Friday - from around the time of the original poster.

    woodsies

Woodsies looks to NOT be a Fri/Sat/Sun order on the poster - at least not below the top line!
  24. How are you getting from the airport to the festival? As others have said, the amount of "big" stuff (tents, sleeping bags, etc) available to buy on site, seems to be reducing - presumably to reduce waste. I also wouldn't want to rely on something definitely being available, or having any decent choice. if you are getting a train from a London-area airport to the festival, you will most likely go through Reading. You could do an online order for all you need, from Blacks or Decathlon (both of which have stores in Reading, within 10mins walk of the station) - and get them delivered for in store pickup.
  25. Most food stalls took contactless last year, but I didn't manage to get a single drink from an "official" festival bar (i.e. any of those by any of the main stages) using contactless - it seemed to go down on Friday around lunchtime, and never came back. Which in this day and age, isn't great - hopefully they might sort it out, but I'll definitely be bringing cash
