  1. They will genuinely add a couple of crucial extra hours of sleep to your festival. They're a god send.
  2. Just noticed Boys Noize has nothing in his calendar for June. He's touring around Europe in April & May though and is playing Benacassim in July.
  3. Bought a new trolley today. Have notions of sticking an electric motor on it but we'll see how we go.
  4. As far as I remember, the Afterburner made its way across to Ireland for Electric Picnic in 2011 too. It was also a stage at All Together Now (also Ireland) in 2019. Hoping it'll be there again this year.
  5. Yeah so I suppose the enforcement time frame is at the root of the question. If this article is to be believed it should have been down ages ago (but I'm assuming there's been an appeal that I haven't found on Mendip or something). https://www.somersetcountygazette.co.uk/news/18169531.planning-refused-pangea-crane-remain-glastonbury-festival-site-year-round/ I get that it's costly to install/remove each year but given we're now less than 3 months away from the festival and the body of the crane is still up, I would imagine the cheaper option now would be to leave it up and dismantle after the festival otherwise for 2022 they're both removing the crane but also installing and removing the spider too.
  6. That has me wondering so. I thought the refusal meant they had a time frame for when they needed to remove the crane? Given the body is still up, could we see one more year with the crane maybe?
  7. Just thinking about the potential change to Arcadia (back to the spider)... Is this rumour based on the festival failing to get a planning permission to keep the crane as a permanent structure?
  8. First off, congrats on bagging a ticket! Glasto is going to blow your mind! I've come a few ways from Ireland (via. London by train and via. Holyhead/Bristol by car). I believe its handy enough to go straight from the airport but given it's your first time, I thought it would be worth pointing out that with those times you'll be arriving when it's dark (if you need to set up tent) and Glasto is absolutely huge compared to anything you may have been to in Ireland so finding people will probs take a little while longer than your used to too. If it's an option, it's worth considering flying to London to head with your friend on the train.
  9. I don't think they've said anything more other than just confirming they can be collected separately. Agree it'll be a nightmare if it's just at one ticket collection point though. If this is the way its going to be, they at least need to create a system where you can nominate your collection point in advance.

Damn. Well, at least you're sorted for your tickets anyway!
  11. You got to be shitting me - it sold me a water bottle, not a ticket. FFS.
  12. You said it best in your first post - "Just because you want something to be true doesn't make it so." Anyway, back to the topic. RIP Taylor, devastating news.
  13. It's Friday for me. As someone has already said before, knowing you've already had 2 days and then waking up knowing the main stages are only starting to open is something beautiful. That said, the build up before needs a mention too. The excitement here, the listing out the essentials, the shop before, checking the weather every few hours, trying to fit everything in the car... it's such a fun time!
  14. Awful news, just awful. RIP Talyor.
  15. Straight back on Monday too? In 2017 a couple from our crew left around midnight Sunday to catch the first ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare and then drive up to Dublin for a 9am start in the office. Aboslutely wild stuff.
  16. I don't post here too often and as a late comer to Glastonbury, it's genuinely sat on my mind since 2019 that you'd missed out on one. I'm not much of a forum person (this is pretty much the only one I go on) but it's been so heartwarming to see so many band together to help others who in many case they've never even met. It's the true spirit of Glasto. Rock on bro 🤘
  17. Not quite ticket related but I got lucky yesterday.... and got covid 🙃 With 3 months to go, hopefully that'll help me avoid a potential disaster before the festival. I've had a genuine fear that covid would trip me at the final hurdle!
  18. Straight from Dublin on the Wednesday? Fair play, that's a long shift. I'm soft, it's a buffer day or two in Bristol for me.
  19. If I don't see at least one flag with this on it, I'll be very disappointed. Well done mate, delighted for you!
  20. Awesome, thanks! Now to update my profile & sig to something suitably appropriate...
  21. Legend - thanks @Neil ! Took a long time to find an Always Sunny name that hadn't been taken - can I change to @TheDayman please? Mucho Gracias! (Sorry for opening the floodgates!)
  22. Cheers @Quark. Yeah, also a little tribute to himself. First album I ever bought myself - think I was 12 or 13 at the time. Definitely the reason I am who I am today!
  23. Is there a way to change my display name? (meant to do this sooner but a recent thread has reminded me) Coincidentally I have that same display name as one of the sites at the festival. I've used Lost Horizon as a user name for plenty of things since I was a teenager (named after a favourite album of mine by Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons) but have zip to do with the site at the festival... Conscious that might cause confusion or may even be taking up a name for the guys if they ever wanted to join here.
  24. Doesn't apply to Glastonbury but it certainly applies to the UK (but maybe not as extreme as the US... yet). Live Nation own a good chunk of UK music festivals. Ireland recently banned the practice of reselling above price (albeit I'm nit sure how effective it will be, time will tell). Other countries should follow suit. The platinum & dynamic pricing stuff is awful. I work in sport and have seen it happening first hand in the background. It's the pits.
