  1. I'm a side sleeper so those thin foam mattresses kill my shoulders... and if I sleep on my back there's a good chance someone will kill me with the snoring it causes!
  2. I just mentioned in an other tread that I'll be in Paines Ground from Wednesday morning. If you're close by, I'm happy to wander across with my pump if that makes things easier for you. I'm just wondering though, for a bad back would you be better off with a decent air mattress rather than the bed frame and whatever you're sticking on top of it? That'd also solve your PSI issue too
  3. I'll also add that I'll be camping in Paines Ground and plan to be there from Wednesday morning. If anyone plans to camp close and wants to save themselves the hassle of carrying a pump, feel free to borrow mine 👍
  4. So the 4.1 FnB XL Air is exactly 15.25kg with the dimensions 75x35x30cm. As everything comes pre-connected, its just one big piece in the bag, with two very small bags that contain the pegs and 2 poles. I'm not sure it'll be worth splitting across multiple bags tbh. The pump is also quite big but very light @ 1.05kg. At moment there's actually plenty of room to fit the pump into the bag with the tent but 1. I don't know if I'd trust the pump not to get smashed in the check-on luggage of a plane and 2. You probably won't have that extra bag space when you go to pack it all up post festival. I'd say most pumps with have the same fitting (17mm) however I think the problem would be getting the required PSI for the tent which needs 7PSI. For context, a blow up mattress is around 1PSI. Here's some pics with a few items next that hopefully helps give you an idea of size -
  5. Give me 2 mins and I'll post a photo!
  6. Didn't see this last time, this is great. I'm wondering under the 'efester recommended' column, would it be worth making it "efesters" so that multiple efesters can tag on their recommendation too? I think it'd be cool to see if there are particular DJ's that a lot are recommending and also if there's efesters here with similar tastes it could work a bit like a "you might also like this" suggestion.
  7. I dunno, from my very brief scanning of his latest stuff I don't think he's too far from the kind of style Fatboy Slim / Idris Elba played at Pangea in 2019. I get you're point on IICON but I actually think that area needs a shake up this time around. Anytime I was there, I felt the music was a bit too heavy or "conceptual" (for lack of a better description) which I felt made the area a bit of a "yeah, this is is cool for 15 or so mins" rather than a "I don't want to leave". Kind of felt a bit transitional overall. That said, I much prefer his Gods Kitchen days of the 00's than the radio friendly stuff so maybe I'm looking at him in the context of the wrong decade! Yeah as said above, pretty radio friendly it seems. I've quickly move on to dig out the earlier stuff on Soundcloud. I'm sure I have a hard drive somewhere full of this stuff... The glory days of Napster and Limewire!
  8. YouTube just threw up a blast from the past for me - Judge Jules. I see he's still active and in Ireland on the Saturday of Glasto. He'd be great on Arcadia or IICON. From my lazy & limited Google search it doesn't look he's played the festival. Also, apparently he's doesn't age too...
  9. This place turns dark after midnight...
  10. I'll just leave these here..... 👀 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002WUJC5U/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?smid=A17CBUME33H0QH&th=1 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/multi-position-chair-brown/_/R-p-307778?mc=8572900
  11. 6PSI sounds very high, are you sure that's correct? My Decathlon air mattress is 1PSI.
  12. Yeah, I've spent way too much already. New tent, new cart and we've rented a roof box and bars for the car too. A Fresh & Black is a game changer though, it'll buy you a of couple extra hours of decent sleep. Actually, one the the lads was arriving late on Thursday last time. We had brought his tent and decided to stick all our cans in it before it arrived - I kid you not, the FnB tent actually kept them cool! To save a bit of weight I might.. might... pick up one of these instead of a full chair this year
  13. I picked one up on Amazon for around £120... I'm getting bitter seeing them cheaper elsewhere now though 😂
  14. I'm the same as you mate. Flew in via. London one year and picked up a trolley in Argos. That dissolved as soon as I stepped off the feeder bus from Castle Cary. Dragging everything on a broken trolley in the heat nearly broke me. Last time, I investing in a sack truck thinking "that'll be the job". Yeah, it didn't fall apart but it was far from an easy journey. For one, they're a pain in the hole to fit in your car. We bought ours in Bristol and didn't assemble the wheels until we got there. If you're planning the long drive from Holyhead with one of those in the back, just make sure you've enough space. But even carrying stuff in, because you're balancing the weight on the truck it's very tough on the hands and arms. When it comes to hills, they can be a nightmare too (I've also got a nightmare story trying to get it up a hill going in to All Together Now a month later) If you go with a sack truck, my only advise would be maybe don't do what we did and go in thinking it will solve all your problems and ultimately end up overloading it. This year I've invested in a garden cart. No idea if it's going to be better or just the same problem in a different package. Only time will tell I suppose!
  15. That's a great price alright, defo better than Amazon (and also better for guarantees etc.). Unfortunately for me, there's not much choice in Ireland
  16. Thanks chief, on mobile and hadn't noticed!
  17. Probably been mentioned already but airports (most, if not, all) are only checking for explosives. We had an "eventful" weekend a few years back where my laptop ended up being used as a makeshift table. Fast forward to a week later and I'm going through the airport for work. My laptop, in a tray on its own, gets pulled aside after the xray. At that point I remember what it was used for the week previous and promptly shit myself. They wiped the top, put it through the machine and... all clean. Thank god people weren't sniffing explosives.
  18. Daft Punk 101 Depeche Mode 109 Elton John 81 Rage Against the Machine 96 (+5) Pearl Jam 61 Talking Heads 99 Kate Bush 109 Taylor Swift 46 (-5) Nick Cave 109 Dua Lipa 91
  19. Yep, was a little cheaper when I bought it but unfortunately it looks like all the "importing from China" items have gone up in price. Anything cheaper on Amazon is usually out of stock as far as I can see
  20. I think it's worth pointing out maintenance (or the lack there of). I have the feeling the vast majority of cart owners use them once or twice a year and for the rest of it they're in a shed, garage or worse - fighting the elements in the back garden. You have to treat them like a bike. Take some time to clean off all the shit when you get home including taking off the wheels to add some lubricant to keep the moving parts from rusting/wearing. Same goes for pre-festival. If it hasn't been used in a year, it's going to need some maintenance to make sure it's in the best nick going.
  21. I think you'd be doing well to find that particular one in stock. Most of them come from China and with the cost of freight these days, it seems most are sold out. I wouldn't worry too much about "brands" though, most of them are the coming from the same few factories. Maybe check out the reviews to judge quality. I grabbed this one a few weeks ago (still in the box - yet to put it together) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089XGF9PK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. Dublin... so Europe? Seems a bit of cheat given how close Dublin is though.
  23. True story - all our tickets have been updated to postage thankfully. Worth pressing them on it!
