  1. Oxfam won't like you sitting or listening to music whilst on shift.
  2. I kinda wish i'd been there rather than the places I was stationed last year.
  3. Yeah it was dead easy. A couple of times I got in with a hand stamp and in 2000 it was a combo of a ticket with passout and a vendor wristband - a big group of mates got in that way. I think 2000 was the first year with ticket/passout and they hadn't worked out a foolproof system yet.
  4. Be careful what you wish for, a cushy volunteer position could be very boring and the time will drag massively. A busy position is much preferable, being busy helps the time fly by.
  5. Yeah I saw A Perfect Circle too, I seem to remember a load of promotional frisbees getting thrown out into the crowd.
  6. This was my friends view too. It's not like he was picking it up by hand, they had tools for dealing with it. Sounds like i'm not as squemish as you, it wouldn't bother me. Toilets need cleaning, lots of people do it every day, it's not a big deal.
  7. Blame too, but I think he had a falling out with Bukem and i'm not sure he DJs anymore.
  8. I know they're not putting things out anymore but if we're talking any era - Good Looking Records/Looking Good Records. Anywhere tbh, but Glade Dome would be nice.
  9. My last attempt was 2000. It was very easy in those days, I remember after Nine Inch Nails played I went up to someone who i'd met's campsite, probably where The Park is now, and the fence was just lying on the floor - you could have just strolled in, wasn't how I got in though.
  10. I usually caught at least 1 set in there each year, it was never particularly busy in there though so i'm not surprised it's gone by the wayside.
  11. I haven't done it but a friend did Loo Crew for the first time last year whilst I did Oxfam for the first time. What he had to do seemed a lot more cushty than me. For example, he had to sign in to each shift at the Wateraid campsite whilst I had to be at my shift location at the start of my shift - so travel time to his shift location was included in his shift while mine wasn't and it can be a very long way to where your shift is. His team had a set route of loos to clean for his shift and once his team had done them they got to end for the day (he said they always finished early). I had to stay at my post for the whole shift and could only leave once the team replacing us had arrived - which wasn't always at the correct time! If I hadn't got a coach ticket this year I was planning to try for Wateraid, I did a 6 mile sponsored swim and raised a few hundred quid for them in September last year so I was hoping that would help my chances of getting a place.
  12. I waited until after the resale to look into volunteering last year. After I didn't get a resale ticket I found it really hard and stressful to get a spot and I really wished i'd sorted it out before. Long story short, take the Avalon spot. If you're lucky enough to not need it it's a bonus.
  13. You won't get One Perfect Sunrise but the others are possible.
  14. I walked past there on my way to my Oxfam shift on Saturday around 13.30, it looked like there was loads of space.
  15. Yeah, I review I read said there was a lot of Optical Delusion material, but it's a good record so that's fine with me. I expect they'll be a good mix of old and new though.
  16. Orbital played NYC yesterday. Played 2 seperate gigs at the same venue, a Green/Brown album set and a 'festival' set. So I may have got it wrong when I said their Park set would be mostly Green/Brown album tunes.
  17. Pennards fills up very quickly. Camped there years ago, can be noisy but then it's near to the action and most places are.
  18. I saw them both on that tour too. At the Astoria 2, with Ash coming on as a secret support - it was right around the time Kung Fu came out. My mates met Jarvis at the bar, I was busy watching Ash.
  19. I'm indecided yet. Have an option of camping next to mates' vans in CV East Quiet but as i'm coming in on the coach this year I have thought about camping in general population. Somewhere like Darble appeals, i've camped either in CV East or Oxfield since 2009 so am used to a good walk back at the end of the night.
  20. I don't disagree with this, but if you want a few hours of Orbital go see them on their green/brown album tour that's coming up soon.
  21. Last year a batch were released some time after the resale.
  22. No but I will be marshalling it.
