  1. And they spent the last half hour just toying with Man U. Would have thought they would have really went in for the kill, I’m sure the fans would have wanted that.
  2. Haha, I’ve spent the last 40 years having progressive (hate the name prog) rock as a guilty secret, furtively buying prog rock magazine as if it was some sort of extreme niche porn . I feel liberated admitting it on here. Now I’m away to listen to a Yes track, and not on headphones either, back in half an hour.😉
  3. Yes, seen all the greats with their classic line ups, zeppelin, deep purple, stones, sabbath, yes, Tull, King Crimson etc. Thanks to my late mum for financing most of the gigs and to the teachers that ignored me bunking off school to go and queue for tickets in Glasgow!
  4. Focus live at the Rainbow is a yodelling great album.
  5. Almost the same musical path as myself. Heavy rock , zeppelin, sabbath , purple and the progressive bands you mentioned as well as less well known bands such as Uriah Heep and Atomic Rooster. The arrival of punk which I loved didn’t stop me liking the classic rock acts. Disco didn’t appeal though the BeeGees were the exception! As the years passed I find you become less snobbish and clannish about music. That’s the beauty of Glastonbury, from the Avalon to the pyramid, just great music of every genre everywhere. Apart from jazz, I can’t get it, never have and I’ve tried!
  6. Another one of his I love Of course some folk might just want Santa to bring a years supply of a certain cheese!
  7. The Scottish education system really reached its peak with standard Grades! It’s been all downhill since then. I assume that was for a credit and not a foundation or general level! All I remember from my French O grade was the luscious French foreign language assistant Madamoiselle Frauciel who smoked Gaulois fags and tormented us teenage boys.
  8. Good idea to bump this thread. The official shop has more stuff available than it used to have. There’s also a photographer who has a shop in Glastonbury Main Street and sells some lovely framed images. In fact a quick search of the internet brings something Glastonbury related for everyone! I picked up a book about Pilton people written by a local!
  9. You can actually get a Harley mobility scooter. A neighbour of mine has something similar
  10. Transformer, e fest in disguise. Sorry, First thing I thought when I saw the name of it. Seriously it will be of great benefit physically and mentally to get that degree of independence.
  11. That’s exactly how I felt, waking up for that split second I thought I was still doing 70 on the M5 and two feet behind another car! Went for a walk and strong tea. A full sunday at the festival and afterwards the 450 mile is just crazy and dangerous. So next summer will be more leisurely, already booked accommodation in Glastonbury for Monday night!
  12. And that’s why labour has to get its act together in Scotland. They used to be guaranteed 40+ seats up here. They need these seats to get a decent working majority in Westminster.
  13. They need to be told, they will play where Michael and Emily tell them to play.
  14. Listened to a few of her songs and she’s a great smooth voice but reckon more suited to an indoor arena than a full stadium waiting to see Coldplay. Would have liked to see London Grammar but should be able to see them at Glastonbury.
  15. Yes, folk desperate to get tickets would have bought the corporate or hotel packages, spent hundreds and then discovered more are dates added. @CaledonianGonzo Is correct, hold your nerve especially if their schedule has free days like the Hampden gig. It was obvious if the sale went instantly they would add another especially with all the infrastructure in place. I don’t mind Coldplay bur Mrs C was keen to go so was happy to bag standing tickets at face value. Now wonder if this still lights up ?
  16. Interestingly more pitch standing suddenly appeared at the same time for the first date so picked up a couple of them. That must have pissed off bigstyle those who went for the expensive corporate tickets when it looked like that was all that was left.
  17. Reckon they might add another Glasgow one as well. First one sold out almost as soon as they went on sale. Especially after setting up the stage and infrastructure for just one gig.
  18. Only the corporate and hotel packages left for Glasgow. Three or four hundred a ticket.
  19. We did the leaving after the headliner thing in 2016 but after a full day on site in the mud and then a 460 mile drive it wasn’t the wisest decision. Parked up in a service station and fell asleep. Woke up with a fright thinking I was still driving, saw the car parked in front of me and slammed my foot on the brakes! Nearly shat myself. so next summer it’s at least four hours kip on site before attempting the drive. Might even find a B and B on the Monday night in the area.
  20. That looks just like the happiness, chaos mess confusion laughter that we have when the grandkids descend. But it doesn’t take long to clear up and the silence returns. Wouldn’t have it any other way, even if the older one can now operate Alexa.
  21. That’s correct, regular testing in place and vaccinations should allow the build to start unhindered. applications for traders is on the main site now so things are moving apace.
  22. I agree with that. We are however going to have a difficult period over winter and would expect increased hygiene measures and probably proof of vaccination for next summer. We have to live with this virus, we can’t just spend the foreseeable years isolating, hiding in our houses staring at screens. We’ve got to get back out there interacting, conversing, we need human contact. 100%.
  23. Would love to see them on the farm. Pyramid early evening would be great but how’s about the Other opener on Friday. Kick the whole main stages things off with an erasure party.
  24. Watch? You can join in, just make sure you’ve got steel toe capped wellies on.
