Having checked, I apologise... I was under the impression that he had done it (unlike a variety of Premiership footballers... err I'd better stop before the defamation lawsuits begin...!)

Does the denial of a date to other people (friends & aquaintances) when out with a person of the opposite sex constitute a date or the beginnings of a series of dates?

No.

As a post-modernist I like to keep worlds from colliding. Anyway, is someone going to attempt to answer my damn question?

Well that's exactly it. How do you know if it's a date or not. You don't exactly say 'shall we go on a date'. You say 'do you fancy going out'. You get on so go on another etc. But people invariaby ask if they see their friend out with someone of the opposite sex and you of course say 'no, no, it's not a date' to avoid long explanations, confusion, awkwardness, embarrassment etc.

What I'm asking, I suppose, is whether this is a common thing. Is saying this, or being asked this, indicative of the dating process. I'm curious because I don't date. I'm more the casual type having been single for so long. I can understand the logic, but I'm not familiar with the signs - hence my curiosity.

Quick question, thought I'd post this in here as it seems a bit of a ramble rather than start a new topic for such trivia.

How many posts do you need to get a wee moto thing under your avatar.

A different board I post on was 1,500!

Anyone know?

Edit.

Cancel that, see what it is now. Damn my impatience!

I'd say that's dating but denying it to yourself and others to make yourself seem as if your still a freebird to do your own thing, even though there a huge chance you're going down the slippery slope of going into a relationship.

Anything's possible.

I think the point is that a date implies an end result/goal/expectancy/duty/roles etc. By being casual there is no expectancy. You can be honest and yourself when there is no role to play so a real relationship can emerge, be it sexual or otherwise.

Of course, some people are in love with roles and so wish to date, be in relationships etc. This just isn't me, nor is it the psychological inclination of those I am attracted to. Would be easier, but not real for me or the other person.

    • People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing.
    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
