Well that's exactly it. How do you know if it's a date or not. You don't exactly say 'shall we go on a date'. You say 'do you fancy going out'. You get on so go on another etc. But people invariaby ask if they see their friend out with someone of the opposite sex and you of course say 'no, no, it's not a date' to avoid long explanations, confusion, awkwardness, embarrassment etc.

What I'm asking, I suppose, is whether this is a common thing. Is saying this, or being asked this, indicative of the dating process. I'm curious because I don't date. I'm more the casual type having been single for so long. I can understand the logic, but I'm not familiar with the signs - hence my curiosity.

Imagine, Cultseeker losing his head over a silly little girl. You are just two people going out. If you end up 'dating' you won't need to say it. If you don't you can shrug and carry on.

Just enjoy the time you spend with her, if it's making you happy.

But why would there be if you're just going out for a drink?

But you don't know if you are. You're just going out for a drink - pretext free. Romance develops. It's a result of being with someone. It's the formation of a relationship. It isn't what you intend to have.

I haven't been referring to me though. I've been referring to the nature of the relationship, which can only be read by signs as otherwise you have no idea what the other person is thinking.

Strange game, which I seldom play being one who doesn't usually care and all that. Its quite interesting. Somewhat childish and compelling.

I don't go through them anymore. I gave up a long time ago. I have no time for time wasters, if I meet someone who wants me and I want them, BONUS! It aint happened as yet though, f**k that chasing or being chased shit, that was all actually quite terrifying!!

It seems to be a disproportionate amount of soul searching going on, and a fair amount of reassurance required by people these days just to pluck up courage for a date. Or clarification as to whether or not you are on a date or not. For goodness sake. Put your hand in the hand of the other person and look in their eyes, even for a second.

So, by 'you people' you actually meant Cultseeker's mate yes?

I agree it's not something that really needs that much consideration....but perhaps Cultseeker's mate, much like Cultseeker himself, is a little out of practice?

    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
