Wow... Wrestling Observer/Dave Meltzer rated the Punk vs Cena match as a 5 stars ***** match.

First WWE match to get that acolade since HBK vs Taker in Hell in a Cell in 1997... 14 years. And the first in any promotion since an ROH Dragon Gate 6-man in 2006.

Impressive.

Rey Rey beat Miz for the title, then lost it to Cena 90 minutes later. Then Punk came back and its Cena v Punk at Summerslam.

Yup, thats what really happened.

I'd like to think they will give full reasoning to his early return next week, maybe have a confrontation with Triple H outlining that he met all his 'demands' (could be anything from the Ice cream bars, more Zack Ryder, rehiring Colt or more guys, Kings of Wrestling who are rumoured to be in negotiations...), Its not actually be announced that Cena v Punk II is happening at Summerslam yet either, could see them holding it off a bit.

I hear that the plan for Punk is to eventually end up in a fued with Triple H which culminates in a match at Wrestlemania with the angle being similar to Austin/McMahon all those years ago.

Whether this comes to fruition or not who knows.Sounds a great prospect but considering they had 6 different scripts for Raw last week only deciding hours before tv which to go with it doesn't sound like they are a company with clear intentions.

Yes! (maybe wishful thinking) However I don't expect it to be one of the main events as their will be 3 or 4 matches with higher profile.

SD needs some fresh main eventers, and Bryan Daniel is over with the crowd at the moment.

At summerslam I think it's gonna be the 4th straight ppv with Orton vs Christian as the Sd main evnet, disgraceful.

With Daniel Bryan facing whoever for the Smackdown World title at Wrestlemania, it'll mark the first time the World title has been defended in a prelim match.

Before they stop the match and turn it into a battle royal.

Double post, but meh....

I'm watching a bit of NXT for the first time since season 1 I think. The main event programme, now in it's 4th week, is between Tyson Kidd & Yoshi Tatsu, and revolves around an action figure that Yoshi has on a shrine. Tyson has broken it, put one of the legs on a chain, and their 4th match is a "necklace on a pole" match. Glorious.

And... Regal is on commentary, and just made a geometry joke. Brilliant :)

Edit; Koslov is planking
