Idlewild, Edwyn collins and Old Blind dogs.

3 bands I want to see

I do support smaller festivals, I have been to Bella for 3 years running, this would have been my 4th if they had a decent line up. I think smaller festys are great and should be supported but not when an established festival like Bella comes up with garbage like this. I am so disappointed.

From the looks of it, a glut of fiddly diddly twaddle. I really want to stop complaining about it though. I'll tell you what was a real treat last year - the comedy in the Verb Garden after all music was done.

that's terrible  hardly anything i would want to see. I haven't told my daughter or other half yet what the line-up so far is like but i feel like not bothering going and just giving our tix away. After last year it's such a letdown.

There are loads of names and different genres of music within the new announcement which is kind of the point of a music festival and one with a great reputation for variety. Even I know there are lots more names to be announced, it is a two day festival after all and there are at least five stages. Do you want them to go and book acts like Kasabian and Primal Scream? Isle of Skye tried that last year and look what happened there.

I was looking at the line up from the last few years and realised exactly what made me want to go last year for the first time, the mix and indeed the ability of the festival to identify and book acts that have or are just about to make it big at the time of the festival - look at 2007, Scouting for Girls, The Pigeon Detectives, Kate Nash, The Hoosiers, Amy MacDonald and in 2006 they had The View. These people know what they are doing, but it seems that there are others who know better.

I am struggling to understand a lot of the logic of the posts on here, okay many of you say that you don't like it, some of you are saying you are not going, well okay that is your choice but I am beginning to think you are trying to put people off attending and break the spirits of those that are looking forward to it.

no, we're all just disappointed by the line-up, when we were expecting the variety they had at last years. So far there are no up and coming bands ready to break the bigtime booked on this line-up, and nothing in the calibre of Seth lakeman/Duke Special/ Alabama 3/James/Martha Wainwright/3 daft monkeys to name a few( all fabulous festival acts) either except Idlewild. Most people who post on here truely love this small festival and are long term supporters...we just expected a bit more ( most people who post on this forum are into music in a big way, I think most of the reason for going to a festival is to see the bands)

I will still be going as I had already got the tickets, but would definitely have not bothered if i had waited for the line-up. No doubt we will still enjoy the festival but not to the same degree of "oooh I can't wait to see ..."

Yes they do, but as a newcomer I feel pretty unwelcome amongst the group - any time I post a positive comment it is shot down, it feels like I have turned up univited to a private party, I can tell you it is not a good feeling.

Saraha said said that most people who post on the forum are into music in a big way, so am I but perhaps my taste is different to yours, that does not make me any worse or any better (in my opinion) just different. Yes there are names on the list I am not familiar with but some of the most fun I had last year was watching acts that I had never heard of and I think I will probably do the same this year.

What because I defended an event I am going to, that you are not but persist in posting about? Some promoter I would be if there are quite a few of the acts on the line up that I have never heard of. Yes I like SFG, yes I like The Waterboys, yes I like Kathryn Williams and yes I like Belladrum but that does not make me the promoter. Once again I find my opinion trivialised.

I think you work for a rival organisation, are you Geoff Ellis/DF Concerts in disguise?

you say you feel unwelcome, well posts like this aren't going to help. The original post was quite clearly not meant to be taken seriously.....the  at the end should have shown you that and yet you respond with yet another attack. Yes, I agree completely that you have been really positive about the festival but that usually comes with an attack on another poster who doesn't share you're views, which is where (imo) the hostility towards you comes from.

Everyone is entitled to their views here and shouldn't be shot down because of it.......try being a bit more open minded

I just seen the guy who runs Belladrum getting out of a Hummer wearing a fur coat and a crown

Only joking, I have my tickets already so not going to get annoyed at the line up until the fat lady sings, no point getting frustrated until the full line up is there to see

I just want to see some good local rustic acts and some bollocks from the organisers, perhaps do an Eavis and hire a rap act, say So Solid Crew or something
