(NOTE;Sorry if this is a naive question or sounds studpid) I brushed of my led zep 4 album today, and doesn't given to fly sound alot like going to california? Was it a 'remake' or just coincidence.

Ps. this is why the song could never be my favourite pj song.

How in the world is that duplicity? My statement yesterday does not contradict your first quote from me, and my stance hasn't changed: whilst Pearl Jam may be a charitable band in many respects, Olivavu's portrayal of "the (official-bootlegs') proceeds going to charity" was misleading (only "a portion" of one-out-of-72 CD's profits did) and furthermore, the whole bootleg-selling thing was profiteering under the false front of "doing something for the little people".

And for the record, you don't have to be a communist to believe that making any profit, from something that thousands of bands allow to go on/make available for free, is at best a bit cheeky, and at worst, totally unethical.

No I'm not. I'm saying how charitable Pearl Jam generally are is irrelevant to my point - the whole "official bootlegs" thing, to me, is a dick move in disguise.

Or to put it another way, "making any profit, from something that thousands of bands allow to go on/make available for free, is at best a bit cheeky, and at worst, totally unethical".

You can disagree, but I'm being consistent.

Check out dimeadozen. They do not allow posting of bootlegs of bands that do not give their permission, and 95% of the files on there are FLAC/other lossless formats (they get very arsey if they aren't).

And these are big, major-label bands/artists (I got a FLAC copy of Radiohead @ Hammersmith Apollo there last).

I think they/the label do make a sizeable amount from the bootlegs, but that can't be confirmed either way.
