Would take quite a lot of the undercard for KC. Mainly Scissor Sisters & Rizzle Kicks.

Not overly fussed on headliners bar TDCC.

YNOT-26-Lineup-1080x1350-1.webp

Personally would be really disappointed if we got this at KC for headlines - agree undercard is ok, but hoping KC is aiming a bit higher than the Retons, The Libertines and The Streets who have all been at the festival over the last 2 years

Hoping that KC are holding back their line up announcement as they gone for some bigger headlines acts, ie, Biffy Clyro, Florence, Ashcroft or Stereophonics

Don't think The Libertines have played since 2018. Stereophonics played 2022, and I'm personally hoping they don't play, as much as I like the first couple of albums, half of the set would not appeal to me

Pretty confident Scissor Sisters will be there. But only sub based on Y-Not lineup.

Does very much feel like KC might have one big outlier i.e. Catfish, Florence or Biffy etc...

Late January before we know I reckon

I dont think Kendal will get Biffy while doing a Finsbury show but I don't think they are miles away from being that point. Florence is way too big.

Of the headliners announced for the other superstruct festivals who do we think is most and least likely for Kendal?

And do we think all 3 headliners will come from those announced for their other festivals?

The Maccabees have never really clicked for me.

Love Ashcroft and wouldn't mind Two Door or the Streets.

Libertines I can take or leave.

Think TDCC & Ashcroft are the most likely ones

Well to be honest I can see a lot of validity in the choices above however I do think the fact it is the 21st birthday ( and we were promised it would be special) I'd love to see KC thinking really big!

Bare in mind no Glasto this year meaning a lot more availability of big name artists. A lot of big tours announced so when you start comparing dates announced you can rule quite a few out but a lot would still be possible.

Have seen lots of rumours that have included Florence, Gorillaz and Pulp this did have a caveat that may be too big for Kendal. Others already headlining Lytham in 26 include Pet Shop Boys and Teddy Swims.

Interested to hear other people's ideas!

I think the fact theres no glasto will mean weaker lineups rather stronger if it has any impact at all as theres less competition, I think this can be seen across the festivals which have already announced.

However im a big believer in not expecting too much and then being pleasantly surprised rather than expecting something great and then inevitably being slightly disappointed

My totally uneducated guess would be tomorrow, but that could be my impatience shining through

Yeah I’m in the same boat. I have a feeling that they’ll have a smaller drop this side of Christmas now the way they used to, maybe 30 bands or so with a massive drop to follow in January

Final prediction:

Thursday - TDCC

Friday - Richard Ashcroft

Saturday - Faithless

Sunday - Biffy Clyro

Couple of other Superstruct headliners, and a couple who are exclusive to Kendal in regards to the others i.e Truck, YNOT, etc.

Faithless not doing much in UK next year but are playing Reading the week before so will be back in the UK.

Always have heard the Biffy rumours each year, and with them being back touring and a few possible wee clues in the email they sent out last month and now the rocket emoji (possibly referencing their album "Space") im going to be optimistic and stick them in.

I'd be happy with that, I think we'll end up with a bit of a 'cheaper' headliner like The Reytons, but I'll be happy if they get a mix of the interesting names from other Superstructs like Scissor Sisters, CMAT, Primal Scream around the top of the bill too. Wouldn't be surprised to see The Libertines as a special guest either.

Agree with Libertines as a special guest. Would be fantastic.

I hope the Reytons aren't there but they went down very well 2nd last on when they were last here so I think there is a big chance.

Keo seem to doing all the superstruct festivals this summer, caught them once last year and they're pretty good.
Red Rum Club another that often play these festivals that I love, Vibrate is an excellent song.
I would love Chemical Brothers too but there's nothing at all to suggest that could happen, would be more than happy with Ashcroft and Faithless with a good mix of support throughout each day.

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
