I always love the slight ambiguity with them.

Says Thursday headliners not headliner, so we getting two?

Tbh they also use the plural when describing Wednesday headliners too. Could it not just be that the band themselves are plural which makes them collectively headliners?

Andre is a teacher isn't he? Does he teach English, can he help?

I love them being like we will give 35 out of the 70 artists we have confirmed that we dont overload them to a week later being we have more confirmations screw it they can have them all why not

Did they ever actually say 35? I assumed it was just someone confusing it with ATG as it was posted in here the same day they'd confirmed they were announcing 35 for ATG

Email on the 24th said 'over 35'

And how come you figure this headliner will be the / an American one? 👀

Preferable for international headliners to play on Thursday so they can then play other shows, typically London, on the Friday or Saturday, where they've got a better chance of selling more tickets. Less of an issue for UK headliners as they can play here much more easily whenever they want.

Surely it's still just headliner? Though i don't really understand what you mean by the band is plural 😆

If the band has multiple members in it then could you refer to them collectively as being headliners using the plural. As in "The Gaslight Anthem are our Thursday headliners".  Does that make grammatical sense, I'm not sure. Might be out of my depth here.  😆

Yeh I get that logic, but how come he thinks the headliner is American - as he expected it might be Thursday's headliner getting announced? I remember him saying he sometimes gets info before the announcement so wonder if that's the case

Ah I reckon that bit might just be a punt on conflating international with likely being American. Happy to be corrected if we do have some intel pre-announcement though.

Hmm a band name is a proper noun so I don't think they are plural?!?

So it would be "the Beatles are the Glastonbury Friday night headliner" not "the Beatles are your Friday night headliners"

But yeah I could also be talking nonsense as well, where's northernangel when you need him 😆

I didnt say I think it's an American band, I said it tends to be an American band, not my fault if people thought I was hinting at something 😂

Trees have put up an insta post talking about Wednesday tickets and having one of the biggest Wednesday headliners ever, but 2 out of the 4 photos being Letlive. has got to be more than just coincidence surely...

Probably is a coincidence, I think they'd cost too much to have on the wednesday.

I reckon it's Creeper

With the amount of hype he gives them, id imagine James wouldn't waste Creeper on a Weds slot and would give them a proper mainstage slot instead.

Marmozets seems possible.

That's why hes properly hyping up the Wednesday slot I reckon

They've played every big slot except headliner and they're not there yet.

Would make sense actually as been thinking they're an awkward one who James would love to re-book but doesn't want to keep booking in repeat slots. I'd wondered about a glorified 'co-headline' main stage slot but Wednesday headliner could make sense and would be excellent.

Marmozets also wouldn't suprise me for that slot but I think they'd also play another time during the fest if it was them.

Im still leaning towards letlive for wednesday tbh, if it was someone else they'd surely just use photos from the forest or word stage to advertise the wednesday. They're playing Rock am and Graspop so are active in Europe next summer (though Trees could admittedly be a little late, watch them get announced for Download later and I'll U-turn)

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
