Does this not make the presale just a thinly veiled general sale?

No, not really. They've always done this. There were still tickets available for all days in late March last year. Just depends on the pull of the headline act, and Pulp are up there as one of the biggest. Their arena dates in 2023 sold out equally as quickly.

Understandable, I got tickets for 2023 so at least I've seen them. My only digression still is that if all of the tickets are available on the presale, then what does that make the general sale? Apologies, only from my understanding is that when an event has a presale, it's a % of the tickets available to those with special access before the rest go to the general public

This is slightly fairer than a regular pre-sale in that it's available to anyone keen enough to sign up, rather than being limited to e.g. those with an amex card. It's a marketing ploy really to get some hype going. I think there still weekend tickets available and a few Friday VIPs, or you could try the resale sites a bit later on - Tixel and Twickets only allow cost price plus a small fee, and there are always people who find they cannot go for some reason.

Aye fair enough, I thought most presales were through a sign up process such as Oasis etc, though do see see the more exclusive ones from time to time (O2, barclays n what have you). Just felt a little misleading, though I haven't particularly followed tramlines previously. As a very regular concert attendee though I would say that the usual status quo of a presale is what I described previously.

Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk. Hopefully twickets comes through strong 🫡

We accidentally have some Friday day spares at tier 3 prices (£85). Definitely 3, possibly upto 6. Need to confirm with friends who got what tomorrow but if interested please feel free to pm me.

All face value, genuine reason for sale - genuine confusion among a group of 20 over who got what hence mistakenly over buying. Glasto board regular in case of any doubt.

There might be a resale if some people are unable to complete the payment plans. Otherwise get on Tixel and join the waiting list you can set it to auto purchase. I've sold via here a couple of times and it works really well.

Ooh, didn't know about the auto purchase, that's a good tip! I've sold on there last year, and thankfully have my Tramlines ticket for this year, but might try for one or two others.

shite, would have thought presale would have had an allocation before releasing the rest for general sale the following day

Me too! Pretty wild that isn't the case. Don't think I've ever known any event offer its entire inventory in a presale.

Would have bothered to follow the email link which didn't arrive if that was the case! Pretty poor Comms all round.

Parklife have done it, and completely sold out in "pre-sale" a couple times now.. I think generally speaking it's best to assume that pre-sale could well be the only chance, and if not still likely the best chance for any in demand show.

I personally doubt the much of the usual Tramlines crowd has ever heard of John Grant or Fat White Family, and will maybe recognise Spiritualized.

That's surprising to me, John Grant has about a decade of minor "hits" at this stage.  I've seen FWF a few times but am admittedly not very clear on who is in the band, how many records they have etc.

So, with Pulp effectively done and dusted sales-wise, anything special to expect for what could get in terms of their show?

It kind of feels they have had their foot on the pedal for the same kind of show since reuniting - but if there is a place to throw caution to the wind, Sheffield may be it...
