  1. Same! If only the flights from the UK were as fantastic as the lineup 🙂
  2. Showing my age but I've not heard of any of those ha! Hoping for the Smile given they're in Helsinki that weekend (Gothenburg, Oslo, Helsinki often share acts). That said, the National's tour finishes 2 days prior in Copenhagen but that just feels TOO stacked right?
  3. It's quite reserved for a country ha! And yep, the festival reflects that.
  4. Two years ago a small beer (330ml) was around 7 quid I think (standard lager). IPAs etc were available at certain bars, probably around the £10-12 mark for a large one.
  5. Definitely bag checks and pat down when we went in last time. Once inside, security are pretty hot too, got moved on numerous for having a vape in the wrong area. On the plus time it does make for a pretty chilled vibe, don't think I saw one drunk person for instance.
  6. Ah great, thanks for the update. Early bird on sale for 2024 on Friday, just trying to decide between standard and premium (with 10% off food/drink). Fred Again first headliner confirmed (not my bag but I'm sure popular with plenty!)
  7. Glad you enjoyed it. Gutted we couldn't be there again this year but already thinking about doing next year. Early bird around £130 which seems insane value. Not sure which drinking/non-drinking areas they removed? Presumably there's still that big area to the left of the main stage? Not sure who will be playing festivals next year but I'd bet there'll be at least 3-4 bands I wanna see each day which justifies the ticket price alone. I'd recommend stay out west if you go again. I only did one last year (and alone, as my wife was exhausted) but it was Ty Segal and it was probably one of the best things I've ever seen.
  8. Hi Guys, Finally bit the bullet (better late then never right!) First time for us this year. On the electricity point, I'm a vaper so do you know if there are any portable chargers for hire/rent on site? EOTR has previously had chargers which you can rent for a couple of hours to charge phones etc. Do have a couple of power banks but not sure they'll last the full weekend. Thanks
  9. Scandic Rubinen for us last year - around 20-25 min walk to festival site or bus/tram. Area around the festival site is a bit of desert for accommodation but it's a small city and you shouldn't have too many problems. Anything North of the river is a bit of a trek but between the festival and the central station, you should be fine.
  10. Not going this year but.....Simon Joyner is over?! Hopefully adds some solo shows to his schedule.
  11. Went to this last year (first time) and absolutely loved it. Really good crowd, great venue (and Gothenburg is one of my favourite cities anyway). Ty Segall's set at Stay out West was my highlight, love that venue (Pustervik?) We've actually booked accommodation for this year but have held off on tickets (for now) - only really Blur and Devo I'm into and we're over in Sweden for Springsteen in June so this might be overkill. If a few more are announced in the next couple of weeks we might sign up though.
  12. Lurking as a had to sell my ticket a few weeks back (hope the buyer enjoyed it!) Re: Conor we caught BE a few weeks back in Sweden and whilst it (and he) sounded great he seems almost permanently wasted these days, that said he was never particularly sober in the past! I think he had a period a few years ago of getting into some serious hallucigens, not sure if he had his "flask" with him at EOTR but I'd be intrigued to know what was in it!
  13. abiding memory is that it was oversold, certainly in comparison to our last visit around 10 years ago. Getting drinks/toilets was a struggle at times. That said, Nick Cave was amazing as ever, Pavement sublime. Really enjoyed Shellac and RBCF too. Last night was too busy and we left after Dinosaur Jr, did catch the end of Interpols set in front of our hotel in Matosinhos though, where the sound was probably an improvement on the NOS stage. Not sure we'll be back, probably too old these days haha but might be tempted for a day ticket if the lineup is strong .
  14. Tested positive yesterday so that's me and my wife out for this year 😟
  15. Still have a sneaking suspicion Nick Cave will open the Friday on the woods. Maybe a Idiot Prayer style grand piano set. Relatively easy to set up, he's 20 minutes down the road anyway. You know it makes sense. 😂
