I hope you're aware there are different subgenres of dnb. She's obviously on the milder side.

And yes, made a mistake oopsie 😇 she's playing Wednesday

No, I had no idea there were sub genres. Tbh, I just thought she was reasonably melodic pop.

I think we are just old, what im gathering you are 40-50 age range. I am 51...

For me its indie - rock - metal - electronic - dance

Absolute no idea of the sub genres of the above. 😃

I am two years older and my genre list is pretty much the same as yours. I know a couple of sub-genres but each of the genres mentioned seem to have about ten sub-genres. I have absolutely no idea why.

NME/Melody Maker/Select have a lot to answer for.

I was about to post the same thing, what's the reason?

None given that I can see, just he's gone and here's your replacement. Which has not gone down well so far on socials!

I wonder who we'll get? 🤣

Tbh, he was the headliner I was least interested in, and an hour-long slot was a bit of a joke so any change can only be an improvement if he pulls out of Sziget too.

Appreciate others may feel differently though. Would be interesting to see what they did about people who'd bought day tickets.

A$AP Rocky just pulled out of Pukkelpop with Macklemore stepping in as replacement.

This is NOT a joke.

Gone from Lowlands as well, so it does look like the Euro tour has been scrapped.

Doechii is at Pukkelpop on 17 August. I hope Sziget does whatever they can to get her.

And, judging by her Glasto set, she quite enjoys doing short sets! Lol.

Chase and Status are around at Pukkelpop on 15th....

Let's stop messing about and get QOTSA.

Also at Pukkelpop.

They're playing Budapest later this month so won't be them (sadly).

I don't mind Mackelmore, I find him quite entertaining. But it's all very Butlins, and I can't imagine releasing his name would be greeted with joy by ASAP fans.

Shame.

Pity the lineup is pretty average across the board on Friday. I wonder if they try and move the likes of Justice, empire of the sun or Van Buuren to the headline slot?

Well that can't happen, justice and EOTS are in Slovakia on the Friday.

I think rihanna is giving birth (he cancelled his shows at red hot chili peppers tour in 2022 because of that if I remember correctly) or... album and tour are not ready yet.

No announcement on cancelling other dates at the minute.

Only lowlands and pukkelpop which are on the same weekend, who announced straight away.

I can understand Sziget not announcing, they are pretty lame on there socials. Rock En Seine and Lollapalooza still not announced though.

No announcement from Blockfest in Finland as well and that festival is on the same weekend as Lowlands and Pukkelpop…

ASAP was their worst selling day wasn't he? Maybe an opportunity to reboot and go in a different direction if he cancels.

Their PR team should really be putting something out to reassure he hasn't cancelled Sziget. Unless he has and they're searching for replacement before saying anything.

Have a feeling it's gonna be Macklemore

I think we all have that feeling!

That said, they're clearly trying to move in a new direction and booking Macklemore would not help them in that journey.

As much as I truly dislike his music, they'd be better off booking someone like Central Cee.

It's a shame that Michael Kiwanuka (much as I like him) is a weaker sub, they could've just moved him up and got someone like Lola Young as a sub.

Lots of headline acts playing August festivals are busy on the 8th, or are 'exclusives' so Macklemore might be one of the only options.

Definitely out are: Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon, Hozier, Raye, Doechii, Prodigy.

Pukkelpop is sold out, so it didn't really matter who they announced as replacement.

Sziget will, I suspect, have to refund day ticket sales. So, they will need a strong replacement to sell thousands of day tickets in just four weeks!

    • I wonder if they had that vote again they'd vote differently, seeing how successful other mayors like Burnham have been?
    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
