Going on thursday. Anyone able to give me an idea of what to expect? Doesn't seem to be a normal festival

Big tent for the main stage, two small outdoor stages, one either side. Variety of food & drink outlets. Short circus acrobatics before each set on the main stage - trapeze etc. All fairly laid back. Smallish site, with banked sides, so easy to get around, and somewhere to sit if you need it.

Easy to get in and out of? Any pubs nearby? I am guessing drinks will be the usual 7 quid upwards

Very limited options for pubs in that area. It's pretty much the arena, IKEA, cinema and retail park. It's accessible by tram, easy to get in, can be a lengthy wait getting away - a bit like Tramlines if you've ever been. I believe trams keep running a shuttle back and forth between Meadowhall and city centre until everyone is away. There is pricey-ish parking at the arena and a few park n ride options. Beer is the usual. I don't recall much of a craft beer offering in the GA area, but regular beers, ciders, spirits, wine. Festival prices, but not the worst. They have the self-serve machines as well as bars.

This may be useful for anyone coming in off the motorway. The car parks are not huge - a few hundred, but handy if you're heading in early. Don't park outside of these areas though, as they will ticket you.Screenshot_20250825-165039.thumb.png.0454225efca2f9139b61ee09ba50c8fd.png

Anyone know drink prices?

£7.50 a pint.

Today was class! Such a good and well curated lineup. I also went to the Self Esteem one a couple of years ago which was great. I hope they continue with the fest every year and have more stuff like today rather than the likes of Bryan Adams and James (with all due respect).

Heading down in a couple of hours via train. I hadn't heard of it until QOTSA honestly. Thought it was just a QOTSA show and didn't even know it was a festival until I had already got tickets

Really great review! I wasn't there last night, but know the event series, and appreciate the excellent writing skills.

Yesterday was a good day despite the weather. It must not have sold too well as I won two tickets through their mailing list.

Sounds quite a few others won two tickets as a runner up prize so seems they wanted to boost the numbers in there.

Queens of the Stone Age were the stand out over Wednesday and Friday for me. I’m keen for them to go for more days like Wednesday and Thursday next year, QotSA, Viagra Boys, Fat Dog, all something different to the usual bands that do the festival circuit

Absolutely fantastic yesterday.  The Lilacs, Jamie Webster, Embrace, Ocean Colour Scene (with the exceptional Steve Craddock) and Freddie Halkon all great and then topped off with an epic set from James.

Hopefully the RnRC gang will be back for another year in Sheffield.

OCS were the best of the day for me, by a mile. Also enjoyed Sleeper, Girlband!, and Somebody's Child. I bailed after about half an hour of James, seem them too many times and I'd already had more than my £6 worth - including a free pint because the self-serve machines was playing up!

I went to the self serve on Saturday night and the guy on it said he had to calibrate the machine and could I help him with quality control and a free pint.
