Just spotted this on the walk to the station this morning.

Assume the Wombats unless anyone could please prove me wrong? While I know the QOTSA day is a bit of a fluke, James and The Wombats seem particularly uninspiring...

As likely the only member of this forum with a Wombats tattoo, yes bloody, please.

Given the NBHD lineup, I wonder if this is James and the Wombats on the same day?

Not a terrible shout. Though hope The Wombats have a full headline slot. Have felt for ages they undersell themselves. If the likes of Bloc Party and Kooks can headline these sized festivals, surely Wombats can too, especially as they're one of the few bands from that era releasing new music that fans actually care about. In the landfill indie space that's very rare.

FWIW, RnR are following on their Insta... James, Charlatans, Cast, Embrace, OCS, Sleeper... and Wombats (definite as latest story uses the song)

I reckon we could therefore see a few of those on the announcement, although they do also have another Norwich date to put out too

I keep forgetting about the dates down south. Bet they might be disgruntled QOTSA are up north and now down there.

One of the local press, forget which, was speculating that QotSA were amenable to coming to Sheffield because of Josh Home working with AM on Humbug, and apparently has a bit of a soft spot for the city... perhaps he fancies a pint in Fagan's!

Given most of these are on the James lineup, I reckon Charlatans could be on sub for the Wombats, possibly also Lathums and K's

It's alright, but it's not exactly pulse-pounding, is it.

I think the problem with James is that they appear to be everywhere, each summer, with a degree of consistency.

In fairness, this will be their first date in Sheffield since a Lasted show in 2023, and therefore their first full electric show since featuring lower down the bill at Tramlines 2022. Before that, it's a 2016 date at the O2 Academy.

For me, it's a wait for the free/discounted tickets nearer the time. There will be plenty wanting to go for a nostalgic day out and prices are usually very reasonable.

Isn't this the Friday of Rock n Roll Circus? So if Wombats aren't playing the Friday, what was the poster tease about?

Right now it's,

QOTSA - Wed + Thurs
Friday - ?
Saturday - Rev
Sunday - James

Where would a Wombat day fit into the schedule now, unless they're subbing, but with the line ups we have already, I don't see where they fit.

Wow! Well-spotted. That is weird. The teaser was definitely for Sheffield. Maybe it will be Norwich instead, although Hitchin might be a bit too close for that.

Either that, or RnR jumped the gun and it wasn't quite in the bag.

Yeah, truly would be bizarre if The Wombats were playing RnR in Norwich after the poster says "I'm back in Sheffield.."

Could they be expanding the run to the Tuesday before QOTSA? I struggle to believe a festival organiser would distribute posters before the contract ink was dry, but what do I know? Mabe RnR did get overly confident that things were all sorted.

Is it a stretch to think they might do bank holiday Monday before QotSA? Obvs the site will be setup by then
