Do the Areas share line ups before they are published to avoid clashes?

I always find it funny when you spend the weeks leading up to the festival agonising over a clash, then on the day itself end up seeing neither!

Oh yes I can definitely see that happening this year. If someone were to do a voiceover of my Glastonbury experience I can just hear them saying Paralysed by indecision she made her way to the Theatre & Circus fields again and ended up watching random stuff she had never heard of but enjoyed it immensely.

Well, emily said on the radio interview that they try hard to avoid clashes and even tweaked the lineup recently, but they can't be avoided. She even said she was looking forward to Lizzo and Janet Jackson- as those two are clashing, it shows the limits. So they do try but it's not always possible.

I'd say what emily said was daft. Every slot is a clash.

I agree- if they move one, then it just creates a clash with someone else, it's pretty futile!

I suppose it's inevitable that some will clash. Some artists can only play 1 day and their stature demands that they be on after a certain time and so there are always going to be clashes.

no, *all* acts clash.

It's the unavoidable default.

True. What I meant was some acts that very clearly will have a huge crossover of fan base like Lizzo vs Janet Jackson or Janelle Monae vs Christine & The Queen or Hot Chip vs Chemical Brothers.

but I'd see Lizzo, and don't care for Janet. And i'd see the chems but don't care for Hot Chip.

Which only proves it's about personal likes and not anything else.

Obviously personal likes come into it but a lot of people mentioning those clashes suggests that they do have crossover of fans. I have some clashes that I know are probably ones only a handful of people will be concerned about like Dave or Vampire Weekend or Kamasi Washington whereas others I've seen lots of people agonising over.

Agree but you can assume big trends in this respect. You can guarantee a huge portion of those at Liam Gallagher will be at Johnny Marr (there's probably better examples but that's the first one i can think of). Like there will always be loads of people who buck this trend but you can make rough guesses

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
