Shame. With the amount of bands about that Download doesn't have this year I thought a "pop-up" Soni might be possible. I'm guessing that 2000trees and Bloostock will be the only real alternatives to Download now without going to Europe.

there's a growing number of heavier fests - more than just those you've named -  just not ones big enough to be booking the big-name bands.

Sad. The last one they did here was excellent, with a really surprisingly diverse lineup that went well beyond the usual rock festival bookings.

it's a shame because you almost got the fest that had what I liked from Download along with a bit of Reading...at the time.

It was such a brilliant festival. Perfect bill, lovely crowds and great location. Shame about how unorganised the demise seemed to be, but what can ya do.
