Glastonbury proposal

Hello fellow Glastonbury goers, I'm proposing to my amazing, wonderful     girlfriend of 4 years, who is a true lover of Glastonbury, & has been to the past 4 out of 5. It is a dream of hers that her eventual true love (hoping that's me) pops the question at her 2nd home. I would love to make it as special as possible, with limited resources and only my girlfriends dad & step mother coming with us, I'm extremely limited to how special a proposal I can make this. I was wondering/hoping wether anyone that can help by advising How I could organise something like a flash mob. Slightly ambitious I know but any advise would be most grateful. Thank you all and what a line up! #glastonbury

If you post this on the chat board rather than questions you might be able to organise a flash mob. perhaps at the efestivals meet on the wednesday night? that could work.

OR you could tweet @glastofreepress with your proposal and if they print it you can go and pick up the paper together on thursday (or sunday) maybe message them to request thursday) and let her find it!

Good luck, I really hope this goes well for you, this was me last year http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-33278840 kinda went viral for 3 days....which i wasnt expecting but was awesome. Please let me know if you arrange the flash mob, we'd love to be part of it. You dont really need a lot of resources, I used 3x bedsheets and some black paint :)

whos her favourite band playing there? You could try contacting them and seeing if they could get involved in some way. Definitely post in the chat group if you want to get a flash mob going I know lots of people would probably love to get involved. I saw a really lovely proposal a few years ago up on the hill by the Glastonbury sign he blindfolded her and took her up by the sign and had some friends holding up boards reading will you marry me when she took the blindfold off and looked back down the hill. The backdrop of Glastonbury must have been amazing!

Aww that sounds lovely!  I think getting a favourite band involved or asking on the chat group re a flash mob are good suggestions.

I don't know your girlfriend (obviously) but if it's her dream for you to propose at Glastonbury she might not need a grand gesture. Are you likely to find organising something like that stressful?  I'm sure there will be plenty of special moments you could choose, looking at the view, after you hear one of her favourite songs or one that has meaning for you both.

Or you could contact one of the craft stalls in advance and have something made and on display with "XX will you marry me?" for her to spot when browsing.

Please post back on here afterwards and let us know how it goes. All the best.

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
