Hi

Failed to get a ticket...........sad face

I am trying to monitor pages to see if they are changing, I am a member of the whatsapp group and am currently designing a don't pee on the land poster to win tickets.

page monitor, two questions;

1. What pages am I monitoring?

2. What monitor am I using, as the two I am using don't actually seem to work.  They would need to be for I-Phone as unless I can make my PC speak to my phone ?!? this isn't going to be that useful

I appreciate there are groups covering in and around this area but, I have been through those and still don't think I have the right kit looking in the right place.

I've got Punchr installed monitoring the 'tickets sold out' bit on Glastonbury.seetickets.com. Though I've no idea if it actually works as I've not tested it on another page yet.

I had that and it appeared to do nothing ?

When you say it did nothing were you monitoring a page you know to have changed or are you monitoring the seetickets one? If the later nothing will happen as nothing's changed. Incidentally, when I set up the monitor it either wouldn't allow or discouraged monitoring the whole page, which is why I set it to monitor the 'sold out' text.

I'm having a little play around with building a page monitor thingy.

if there's anyone out there - just one person, please - who would like to be a tester and who will perhaps get a number of false alerts as texts and emails, then please give me a shout by PM, and post here too so I don't get flooded with PMs.

You are in my dream job and also have a real chance of getting tickets.  I need more of that in my life.

I wrote my own.. worked a treat last year! It's a php script which runs every minute checking to see if the content of http://glastonbury.seetickets.com/ has changed or not and sends me an e-mail if it has (with the difference in content listed).

Had to revisit it this year as I didn't manage to get a ticket in the regular sale or April resale.. *sadface*

I run a family business with my dad. It has it perks, and downsides. I'll probably miss out on the secret sale because I'll be on the phone or something. That customer will just get disconnected straight away haha

Just to add to all this, it's also worth monitoring the glasto Twitter as they posted about them on there last year

No, I am trying to get one in the re-sale. I have upgraded phone and re-installing all the page monitoring shizzle. I'll have a heart-attack the second I get a notification.........

I can confirm theat Web Page Checker / Web Checker for IPhone does work, it's just gone off!
