Total change of topic here fairy, but what's the weather generally like near you in the first couple of weeks of September? Thinking of having a holiday and jersey has come up in the conversation.

*crosses fingers that he's remembered correctly and it is you that is nearly French*

scruffy

Weather is generally lovely on September, but of course you never know :-), everything's still open and not closed for winter, prices are slightly lower as out of schools holidays , infact I'd say it's one of my favourite months of the year.

Beaches are gorgeous, stunning walks, good food and drink , an hour from St Malo in France so an easy pop over for the day to a beautiful walled town for moule frite lunch , look up the ecrehaus, you can easily get a rib out there with a picnic and watch the Dolphins on the way out and seals when you get there

oh and the weekend after August bank holiday (thinks it's the beginning of September ) is Jersey live weekend , so our own boutique festival, this year so far announced to play  disclosure, Richard Ashcroft , madness and sigma ....

Pm me if you want to know any info at all

ps : my French is terrible and I'm actually from Essex, just lived here for a few years :-)

Good morning efester

Todays the last day to pay off your balances

Has everyone who intends to pay paid up?

I've paid, checked the money has come out of my bank account, moved the confirmation email over into a different folder and read it about 5 times but I'm still scared that somehow my ticket will vanish :')

Husband has now got a working place (more whooping) but I've only got a coach ticket and he doesn't drive. Still at least we're both on site. If not actually together! Might bring one of the children as I'm not working so that I can camp in Wicket but then I have the whole school fine worry.

I absolutely love Glastonbury but the logistics are now making my head hurt.

Finbarr!! Wrong thread but hi guys and guyesses!! How are you all doing? I've missed your happy smiley avatars. Does this mean I have to keep up with 2 very fast paced threads? I'm loving the line up poster and have many potential clashes. Which is a good thing as last year I was searching for people to see. Peas and love to you all xX

Been away hence not replying.................. and indeed am still away!

Nights are a nightmare. I did 6 12 hour nights last week and it is murder trying to turn my body clock around so that I can make it in on days tomorrow.

I'm doing 7 12hour shifts and I have to turn around to days as I'm taking my mate to court! I could actually punch her in the throat! Now that's glasto love for you huh? To be fair she has been a silly silly girl.

Oh no, Curlygirl, that doesn't sound good.  What's she done?  Or would you rather not say?

Matt, hope you're having a good time wherever you are.

Enjoy your trip to Manchester, Funkyfairy.  Is it work or pleasure?  I like Manchester because it's the home of my all-time favourite band, the Smiths.

Ahem!!!!!

Who irons bedding?? Easty, do you also iron your Grundies?

You mean gruds mate? No I am not that sad. To be fair I don't usually iron my bedding, I just became a victim of circumstances.

Well wish her luck in court. Hopefully they will not be too harsh on her (unless she deserves it)

It's a nightmare swapping over from nights to days. I am getting far too old, to be doing shifts.

There is no way your mum can possibly be as sad as me :-)

She is! Trust me! I cannot for the life of me fathom why anyone would iron bedding... Unless the house was up for sale. I did once have an ironed duvet (and cover) just for viewings. It wasn't used I must add.

She deserves it. She was driving drunk. She could have killed someone.

I'm only standing by her because I've known her forever and she's my bestie. I'm not impressed. I'm meant to be away visiting friends but have to stay at home to help her out. She won't admit she has problems.

Sounds like you're being a good mate, Curlygirl - being there to support your friend, while making it clear you don't approve of what she's done.  It sounds like she has a problem with alcohol but won't acknowledge it?  What do you think will happen in court?

Pleasure brighternow. Off to see Muse tonight and then the theatre tomorrow to see American idiot ... Throwing a few cocktail bars and hopefully a music club into the mix and hoping for a busy and fun weekend :-)

In my defence there are mitigating circumstances, I do not make a habbit of ironing bedding. At present I am in the middle or having my bathroom done and my house is a shithole. Due to being on nights I was wide awake and could not sleep. The state of the house was doing my head in but due to living in a terraced house, I could not get stuck into cleaning it properly as I would wake the neighbours. So I decided to make sure my bedroom was spotless. At least then I would have some respite from the carnage caused by the bathroom. For some strange reason I decided to iron the bedding as that was all I could do really without waking anyone up. I was trying to make small but positive steps :-)

She will probably get a ban and forced to do a 2 hour re-test after the ban is up.

Today's my last day (as I mentioned a few weeks back my team are being made redundant). Got an interview on Monday so hoping I'll be back working again asap.

Good news is my balance is all paid up and I've got Glasto to look forward to :)

Gone back to my default happy place and have been listening to 90s brit-pop all morning. Pulp, Blutones, Bernard Butler, Blur, Elastica, McAlmont & Bulter have all been on. Any other recommendations for my playlist?

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
