Kegs & Ice

No rules against bringing whatever booze you want (assuming you're not coming on a coach - National Express might have their own rules). However you'll need to ensure you dispose of the empty keg properly or preferably take it away with you when you leave. Remember you can take your own booze wherever you want so you might want something a bit more, er, portable than a keg unless you're planning to spend the whole weekend sitting at your tent drinking?

Ice is a tricky one - if it's a hot year, some enterprising traders will get some on site and sell it!

as above, something more portable is far better than a keg, if it's warm your beer will be all warm at least you can shove cans in a cool box and that will last a few days. it's harder shoving a keg in a cool box.

Cheers guys, all great info.

I think we would be looking at bringing a plastic 30L KeyKeg in the car. Easy to move and dispose of compared to a steel keg, also no CO2 needed. Anyone know of any Breweries/distributors in the area worth looking in to? Otherwise easy enough to bring something craft from London in the car.

You know you've got to get that 30L keg from the car to your tent? Could be 2 miles walk and hours in a queue? You'll need a sack truck / trolley / wheelbarrow!

Maybe bring some 2L bottles of pop, which once drunk you can fill with beer and carry round?

Bath Ales. Their Gem has been on tap before at the festival. They deliver and have a shop

Thanks @jamesrfisher. That is a great help. A lot cheaper actually, and also good beer! Will look in to this. Had these from Waitrose, good stuff.

@pie_and_a_pint Agreed. The logistics are a bit of a nightmare. We have the team looking in to trolley options as we speak. My friend Tim has assured me his training is going really great. His reflexes are sharp and hes crazy agile. Hopefully will be able to carry it.

If you do a search on here there's a few threads on trolleys - I must say I love my bright orange B&Q sack trolley - we've had it for years and it manages tents, booze, and all sorts of assorted crap. You'll probably need some bungee ropes to secure a whole keg though! Good luck!!

You could hardly pay me enough money to carry a keg of beer from the car into the festival site: doesn't really matter how fit and willing he is, he'll be putting it down and swearing like a good'un at it! Defo strap it to a trolley. Also I hope it's bright, and not unfiltered - otherwise if you roll it in on Wednesday it won't be nicely drinkable til Saturday, and thatd just be rude!

Also, you will co2 to dispense from the keykeg, it just doesn't touch the liquid. The has essentially squeezes the bag that's inside the plastic ball. Furthermore, it typically has to be at a fairly high pressure otherwise either it won't be strong enough to force the liquid out or when it does it will fob badly. Plus you'll need special keykeg couplers, dispenser etc

I guess you could remove the bag from the key by cutting it out but it will be difficult to contain and dispense - 30ltrs if beer I would've thought would weigh at least 40kg. It's a great thought to take a keg that size but I can't see it working out unless you've got a bar with a cooling unit and can drive the keg right up to it.

good luck if you do though!

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
