And i can also verify i wasn't shyting through the eye of a needle!

But I do see the need for a draught lager to be on in the regular bars, as usual i was being facetious! ;)

Im at northbound this weekend at its £3 for a pint of decent cider and £3-3.50 for a good selection of real ale and larger

The tents are being ran by moo bar from penrith so the pint will be decent i reckon

Northbound is subsidised by the local council I think though and is set up to support local businesses, which as we know kc ain't !

TBH it's getting boring now the bars at kc , im glad my gang smuggled what would be over the bar last weekend around £600 into the arena , if you treat people like mugs you deserve what you get !

This sounds more like it. Good food at KC and pretty fair price. The bars are a rip off and the choice is crap.

The general camping crew were clearly coming in only for the likes of Ella Eyre and spending their festival drinking at the tents as they had little chance of getting ( drink ) in past security.

At £4.40 for 330ml who can blame them. How much would you need to spend over the weekend. This then leads to the young team arriving late in the evening totally smashed and bands playing to pretty small crowds during the afternoon.

I do realise that the coin is king to KC but no-one likes the piss being taken out them and £4.40 for a wee bottle is having a laugh.

I doubt that crowd would do things any differently! Same at all festivals. Then they come in and ruin Elbow by talking so they can shout along to the chorus of 'on a day like this' (which in sure they all think it's called') and then leave again when it's been played!

Lets agree to disagree efc :-)

I reckon the price of drink and the strict search policy is leading to more and more people spending time at their tents and fewer folk watching bands in the arena. Especially in the afternoons / early evening.

I have no real evidence but I think it's happening at a few festivals I've been at.

It won't happen I know but I'd like to see them all being like glastonbury. Take your own booze wherever you like ( no glass) and let the bars compete for the trade through choice and price.

Everyone still likes to buy a few cold beers over the weekend but if your skint you can bring your own.

If I sound like a miserable old git......It's cause I am :-)

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
