Curlygirl
I guess you are right there - all the years that I have been I've always felt sorry for those walking about fully laden with their kit obviously just having arrived on the Thursday night and even the Friday morning. It's just the same with those who have to leave early. Or simply want to leave early. Good point yog, never thought of those that actually want to leave. Just read your comments on the tent theft thread. That was lovely of you!! How sad for that lady and her husband? I think I'd want to go home at that point too. Hello Curlygirl Yes it was really shitty what happened to that lady and her husband - in fact I don't know how she kept it all together to even post on here. I'd have been too incandescent with anger to talk to anyone. I used to keep my wallet and car keys on me at Glastonbury for many a year - I'll never again do so though as it's just not worth the risk. Hope you have a lovely time in Spain. I put my passport and money it. Not worth the risk. If only everyone read these forums, there may be less victims. Anyway... I digress from the topic. Thank you, I will have a lovely relaxing time Edited June 28, 2015 by Curlygirl
TheNewUnion
I'm at home, left after Lionel. Feel free to judge me if you want. I've taken to leaving after the legend on Sunday unless there's something I desperately want to see. I feel like I need to get out of there before it finishes on Sunday, same every holiday I go on, like I don't want to be there when it ends. I'd been on site since Tuesday afternoon (camper field) so I don't feel too bad about it.
iwalker
It wasn't that long ago that the norm was to arrive on the Thursday and Wednesday was for the hardcore. I did go through a spell of leaving on Sunday when there was no one else I wanted to see, although in 2007 I was so done in by the rain I went home first thing. elias
I went back to the car to fetch the weliies first thing on Saturday morning and two young girls were leaving. That would be ok, but they were giving one of the stewards a bit of lip on the way out. *sarcastically* 'Yeah, enjoy the rest of the weekend in the rain and mud'. Funny, but the mud dried up and the weather was pretty damn good.
themuel
We watched The Who, then finished things off by sitting round the fire outside the Small Worlds tent then headed off about 0130. No queue and no stress.
AtomsForPizza
I can just about understand people leaving early, it's just galling for someone like me who has been before and would never have dreamt of leaving early and missed out on tickets this year! monosabio
We always leave after the Sunday headliners. Got home at 4.30am and am in my office today until midnight. Not that I'm working, just browsing this website mostly. We have only ever once left on the Monday morning and it was seriously depressing seeing stuff being being dismantled. Equally depressing was the queue to get out of the carpark. It's hard to leave in the early hours of Monday but at least you are leaving Glastonbury when it is still vibrant and alive for, who knows?, might not get tickets again next year and you want your last memories to be positive.
