Pukkelpop 2015

What do people think the chances of picking up a Saturday day ticket are?

They did a ticket exchange last year and there were plenty floating about. I can't remember the exact details of how it works but you basically have to find someone who's selling one (lots of people were using the Facebook page) and then pay a small fee to exchange the name (as well as the cost of the ticket of course). I imagine they'll put up the details in the next month or so for what they're going to do this year.

All festivals are cancelling Ten Walls one by one after his controversial and disgusting comments. Don't think Pukkelpop will stay behind on this.

Yeah can't see them ignoring it now with big fests like Creamfields and Pitch cancelling him. It would look like a tacit approval of his ignorance.

Been following this story since it broke yesterday and was surprised PKP didn't pull his show before now. Ten Walls' last Facebook update this afternoon said he was cancelling all his dates, most likely before they were cancelled for him.

Was definitely going to watch his show but there's no place at PKP for someone with such bigoted and out-dated views. Hard to know what the guy was thinking really when he wrote the post? He's managed to commit career suicide in a matter of minutes, plus quite rightly made himself a figure of (almost) universal hatred.

So....still not sold out. Is it panic stations for the organisers to get a few more bands in to boost ticket sales or are they happy to roll with what they've got?

There's a few floaters like me I reckon who would be pushed over the line with a couple of extra decent additions but I just don't see it coming. The Soulwax line up will probably be the clincher for me I reckon.

Mid-May to Mid-June is always the slowest selling period. Students are now in their exams, and failing would lead to missing Pukkelpop (considering it's amidst the second tries period). It'll get another boost after the results roll in and people find out they're free to go.

If Faith No More get added to the lineup I will be completely ecstatic, although I figured that it's probably too late for somebody of their stature to be booked for the festival.

That's my thinking too. Depends how bothered they are about the festival selling out I suppose.

Looking at their schedule they don't have any dates in Europe scheduled around the Pukkelpop dates, so this really does seem highly unlikely to me. Still, wow, what a treat it would be to see FNM at Pukkelpop!

Yeah, highly unlikely. I think it's highly unlikely we'll get anyone decent now.

Someone along the lines of Flying Lotus/Refused/TV On The Radio is the biggest we'll still get, I guess.

In all three cases I'm wondering why they haven't been announced yet. Pukkelpop is missing out on an awful lot of typical Pkp-names already: Beck, Libertines, Iceage, Fuzz, The Antlers, My Morning Jacket, ...

If anyone's interested, the running total of names is

Wednesday- 6

Thursday- 76

Friday. 60

Saturday. 61

By my reckoning, Thursday's pretty much done. There are still main stage and marquee slots to be filled on the Friday and the Dance Hall is looking short of names on that day as well. Saturday's in need of a couple more names for the shelter and probably the odd name for the rest of the stages apart from the club and boiler.

not likely, but Slash would be great. Saw him at Glastonbury in 2008 and it was fantastic.

It would only take 3 or 4 decent names like Slash to get me over the line and buy a ticket but I think it's too late now. Unless the Wednesday is an absolute barnstormer of a night (Soulwax, hot chip & Chic for example) we're almost certainly giving it a miss this year. Looking at Rock en Seine as an alternative.

just been looking over last years thread......makes me dread the radio soulwax night in a way for how packed it'll be! if disclosure was that rammed and against deadmau5, soulwax and 2manydjs will be twice as bad, surley??

now that all the festivals in the UK are going ahead, its making me wanna fast forward and get to pukkelpop!

Well, it's only open to Wednesday campers, and it'll be clashing with dj's in the Boiler and bands in the Castello. And tbh I think they won't pull out all the big cannons, specifically because of that crowd control.

I don't think Soulwax the band will make an appearance, they've done zilch for a couple of years now and nothing seems on the horizon.

2manyDJ's should draw a big crowd though and the tent will no doubt be rammed.

A wiser idea may be to have the rest of the line up in the Dance Hall and then 2manyDjs to do a set in the boiler. Kind of defeats the object of a Radio Soulwax night though.

ahh okay....well radio soulwax shows tend to be 2many & soulwax......even though soulwa dont do much, they do the odd show here and now like the soulwaxmas nights and about 2 years ago were due for a euro tour but pulled it back because of new album duties, so can imagine it might be the start, otherwise wouldnt be booked as a radio soulwax night...just a 2manydjs show

piut a bit more at ease as its only open to the weekend holders, we'll have to wait and see, and just get there early, which im sure ill do...probably the first one there.....my girlfriend wont be very amused, oh well....

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
