No! Were you there? If not, you missed out I'm afraid. He lulled them into a false sense of security with a few gentle songs, plus a few slightly darker, louder ones, then unleashed this...

The looks on some of the faces were priceless! :)

I bet lol I wasn't there in 2013, this year is the first time since 2007. I'm counting down the days

Hope we get some acts as good as this this year

Me too!

There are a fair few on the poster I'll be seeing, but hoping for more to come. There do seem to be a few 'house bands' at glasto, Coldplay, Elbow, etc. but I'd far rather have Nick Cave play every year! I've not heard any rumours about him for this year, but he is touring, and not busy that weekend, so who knows?

I'm adding Pentura my fellow Jackeen to my list of peeps I'm looking forward to meeting and also Tommy cos we were supposed to meet last year at camp ralph but bailed. So you both better be at the NFR meet.

Matty, I want a Stevie Moonboots calender. He just brings tears to my eyes. He's so lovely. I love elephants, they're my favourite.

Matty is at the bar getting beer. George clinton was epic and i would recommend it for saturday night if you all have any sense. I will tell him to get the calendar sorted tout suite.

Continuing on from the nick cave love

I was lucky enough to see them in Leeds, at the front. One of the best gigs I've seen. I'm in a time warp this week, having listened a lot to The Good Son, Nick Cave, and live Eels, rather than this new fangled pop the young 'uns are listening to. I also went through some videos from the Word Association Thread (via Wibble > Jokes forum) while I was making shelves last night, to catch up on bands unknown to me. I spent more time sitting down watching the vids, than doing the shelves :fool:

    • Can't speak for Dua Lipa's, but Coldplay's was vastly scaled down compared to their stadium production staging though, and tracks were adapted to reflect that. MOTS tour had a full walkway 30m out to the B-Stage in the middle of the crowd, and two C-Stages. Glastonbury didn't accommodate that at all and just had a very small walkway in front of the Pyramid stage, and (IIRC) a disconnected B-Stage.   Which re-enforces my point. Acts can adapt their stage shows if they really want. Most do, some don't want to. Glastonbury might miss out on the odd act that doesn't want to slightly adapt, but so will most festivals.
    • Oh wow, was sure they’d be playing this or trees.
    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
