I love that there's a real Sharks and Jets feel regarding the weather threads.

I started humming Luck be a Lady Tonight, but that's not the same musical. Dur.

Happy birthday Thurlow t ' old son.

Been a mixed up day in Carlosville. Bad news, the family's gone off to the coast till Friday and I'm working. Good news, I can eat and drink whatever. Bad news, I've got some diy stuff to catch up on, good news, I can play Nick Cave sweary music loudly. Bad news, I hear about my CV bill on Weds, good news, I see my grandkids at teatime. Right, off to water the allotment then eat a chicken chilli dish, accompanied by an inyerface white. Laters y'all.

I love all the good news.

Not so keen on bad news.

Be good(ish)

Back from the lotty, on the bike for festival fitness.

I'm knackered.

Anyhoo, Game of Thrones tonight to catch up before the next season starts. I can resist looking in the self-confirmed thread, but not those White Walkers of Leeds. Sure they all drink Kirkstall IPA.

Hi Carlos, I've been cycling for a few weeks now to get fit for glasto. I fell off tonight for the first time. There's no dignity in having to clamp the front wheel between your badly grazed knees while you use every bit of strength you have to straighten the handlebars!!!!

It was very funny though

ouch!

Still, you'll be running up that hill back to the cv. I found plastic Martini glasses in Asda the other day, just had to buy 2 for the festival arrival drinks.

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
