This was my first year in WV and although convenient as we could only arrive on the Friday it's not something I'd do again.

The pluses were the close proximity to the range rover (if you get my drift), nice toilets and showers although never bothered due to the queues but there was a total lack of atmosphere around us.

We stayed in the CV fields last year and anyone moaning about the hill of death really wants to try this. There was no way we were doing that more than once a day lol

Ours was only a 2 man yurt and was £350. Nice enough but small. Room for a double air bed just.

Will take my chance on finding a pitch next year on the Friday.

After years of camping on site, we tried WV. Loved it! My fitness regime paid off I think (I'm training for severest Base Camp in Oct) so had no issues with the hill which is very short really. Only thing is, the 4 man scout tent was a squeeze for 4. For 2 would have been perfect.

Having seen the state of some of the onsite fields (especially sat night) I'd have no problems using WV again.

WV was fantastic. We knew about the hill before hand and never bothered with the showers. Queues for the toilets was to be expected, but that was only really when everyone was getting up in the morning. The toilets were always really clean right the way up to Sunday lunch when they started deteriorating but that's much the same as the rest of the toilets on site.

We had a long walk to the tent, being allocated a few rows from the back (was it allocated in alphabetical order?) But we prepared for that. Into the main site for breakfast and tea then wonder the site drifting from stage to stage and sticking around for ones we liked. We would see anything on our "list" and head back up the hill for a nap. Then head down for headliners and night life for a few hours and then make our way back up.

We had a 2 man scout tent between 2 and it was more than enough room for our inflatable mattress bags. Space for bags and boots and a decent sized porch. My missus hates areas that are too crowded due to her anxiety thought the tents were pitched too close together until she saw the camping inside the fest (her first fest) and quickly agreed we made the correct choice.

The food and bar area were okay. Seemed like a nice retreat from the rain and some where for hot(debatable) food, was a bit overpriced but again that was to be expected. Couldn't really comment on the bar itself as we never purchased any drinks while at glasto (not big drinkers) but there was a great view of the main site and was nice to end the night there.

Would definetly use again and recommend to others.

I thought it was decent, If you went earlyish for a shower 8 then there wasn't a queue. I was surprised it was hot water I was fearing having two lumps in my throat!!

Tent was bigger than I thought it would be and plenty of space for the 2 of us and space for my bags/wellies.

The hill was steep but one day I stupidly did it 3 times, I am reasonably fit so it wasn't much of an issue for me.

Agree on the lack of atmosphere but that was to be expected but I didn't spend that much time there as I was out most of the day.

Thanks good to hear people's feedback as if I get a ticket next year I am considering it as an option. It seems though the extra capacity added this year has taken away from the experience somewhat with more queues for showers etc. I'd love to hear thoughts from folk who stayed there both years to see if its just becoming more run of the mill?

Oh did any of the tents leak in the rain? Is it worth the money? We can probably expect the capacity to be added to again for next year...

In all fairness the tent we had was great quality. I'd never camped that side of the festival before though and you are right on top of Arcadia so grandad here found earplugs were a great idea if you wanted a better nights sleep before 6am!! :-)

The tent didn't leak (2 man tent) and was good quality

I dont think you could get extra capacity in there next year but who knows. If they did I think they would have to add more facilities.

For me it was worth the money and would use it again. Staff very friendly as well

Our 4 man leaked once on the Friday. Not ideal. There will be more next year (just open the adjacent field!), as it really is a licence to print money (although they did say that was max showers they could provide, so facilities will be worse if they do). Shower queues ok if went early. Relaxed vibe, staff all sound and trips to car easy - getting off site on Monday easy. All in all (ridiculously expensive) but worth it.

Our two man Scout tent held up well in the rain. Campsite was peaceful, but well located for the great food of the Greenfields and late night antics of SE corner. There was a lot of noise leakage from the Hell stage - def recommend earplugs. Toilets were clean - but not enough of them - we ended up using the compost toilets at the bottom of the Stone Circle field in the morning. Catering was expensive - £7 for bacon roll and coffee.

Biggest wins for me were the proximity to the late night areas, short walk from car to tent (8 mins) and easy drive in/out - we left at 11am Monday and were back in London by 3:15, including a stop for lunch and a food shop at Tesco!

I camped there last year too - to be honest the grumbles about toilets and showers were the same last year. What was a nice enhancement this year was helpers equipped with wheelbarrows to help you with your stuff - bonus!

My 2nd yr at WV so will try to give some helpful feedback:

Even though capacity increased significantly in year 2 to my eyes there were exactly the same number of showers and toilets as year 1. The toilets were definitely maintained and much cleaner than last year which was good. Surprised not separate toilets further up campsite near tips and podpads - those people paid much more for their accommodation and heard a few moans that additional toilet facilities were not provided closer

The queues for the showers were 30mins to 1hr at times after 10am. Last year even for my friends who got up late the queue was never that big. Agree with others than early wakers would be fine as before 9 queues minimal for showers & toilets.

The showers kept breaking in the early part of the week as far as I understand. Pressure was lost and the fuse kept going. At one point the mens cubicles had to be closed and the women's one emptied for men to use. Had most impact on Fri & Sat morning when campsite full - issues seemed fixed by Sunday

The single coffee/breakfast shop in middle of site had very long queues in the morning although was definitely a welcome addition to year 1 which only had the food service at the bottom of the site before the hill. Would hope a second shop could be opened upfield near the podpads in year 3. Also much more pricey than food/drinks on site (£3.50 for a coffee?!)

The tents were very good - stayed in a 2 man scout and no problems. Friends stayed in yurts also positive feedback and no leaks in downpours.

Staff all very nice and campsite was trouble free and friendly.

Car park still just as close (if not closer) than year 1. Arrived at same time this year (Wed 4pm) and was 5 min walk from car to tent

Bring some ear plugs - Shangri La can get very loud into the night. Pretty much heard the whole Hell stage closing set on Sunday night

Hill is fine if you are reasonably fit. Had knee op a few months back and I was ok whilst my friend on crutches with torn Achilles managed it too! If weather had been better would have been ok returning in day (did that a few times in year 1 and was fine)

Summary:

After staying at WV last year I was generally pleased with set up (barring toilet cleanliness) and was more than happy to pitch up for a 2nd time. Also glad they got rid of the dome tents from year 1 as they were far to small for 2 people. The 2 man scout tents are a perfect size. Year 1 = 7/10

The lack of increase in shower and toilet facilities leading to long queues (I got up much later this year so had to endure these queues daily) was a big disappointment. I know they had lots of feedback about this last year and appeared to not have listened. The SE corner seemed much louder at night than I remember in year 1 but that is easily fixed. Improved entry system this time by getting rid of pass outs was good. Bringing kit to make own breakfast/coffee/tea highly recommended to avoid expensive on-site food & drink prices.

My one gripe was the men's showers - they faced outward towards the queuing people. Everyone could see you wander in in your towel, and one of the actual showers faced the queue so was unuseable. Now I'm not shy so wasn't really that bothered, but imagine if it was the women's showers - I don't think people would have stood for that.

Stayed at WV and no major gripes from me! Stayed up there before in a myhab so knew about the hill but much better now as there have made steps. Didn't use the catering brought my stove for a morning brew...used the showers before 10ama nod no major queues same never had to queue for the toilets which where clean and always had loo roll in but not hand towels. I had a 2 man scout tent which was excellent quality made of canvas and never leaked, porch big enough to sit in a chair when it was raining and stay dry.. No traffic going in at 7:15 weds morn and never stopped once leaving at 8 am Monday....car was about 3mins walk and great for charging my phone as so close. Easy pass out wristbands much better idea that those stupid pass out paper passes....security very good and friendly ....I agree with earlier poster that dedicated lock up would be good but part from that would def use again.

Exact same with us. We were happy with it last year apart from the problems with the toilets, but there is no way that there was enough toilet and shower facilities for the increased capacity this year. We felt ripped off and it's the last time we will be staying there.

What did we pay £260 for? A pre-erected tent and a short distance to the gate and carpark?

It's not worth that money I'm afraid. We're going for a caravan next year if we get tickets, then we can wake up mid morning and go to the toilet without queuing for half an hour.

I stayed in an octapad, it was great. We only did the walk once a day and it was fine. Being so close to the car, having actual beds and not having to find a pitch more than made up for it.

Last year it was the 4th Nov I think. Somewhere around then anyway. It's a different sale to the ticket one, it would be too much all in one day.

Comes down to luck with regard to choice. I got in to buy tickets are 5mins of refreshing and all that was left were the 2 & 4 man scout tents. I originally wanted a cloud house but glad we got a scout tent in the end as much more usable room.

Only downside for me is that they don't do a deposit scheme for WV (considering it's an official option i would have thought the could introduce it). Maybe this year?!

Does Worthy View sell out on the day tickets become available? Maybe a silly question considering it is Glastonbury after all!

our experience this year was that everything apart from the scout tents and maybe the very large yurts, octopads etc were sold out on the first day. We wanted a cloudhouse and they were gone within about 10 minutes it felt like! got a 2 man scout tent, it was fine, no pockets or anything handy like that on the inside and ours was pitched kind of badly so that rain got onto our inner at the back a little bit, a steward did come with a mallet to help my boyfriend repitch it though but it was a bit of a pain in the arse to have to do it and loads of the tents around us had the same problem...so its worth checking if you do get one next year!
