Tips for a wet Glastonbury.

Watch out with stools in the wet, one leg often sinks leaving you in a hilarious but muddy pile on the ground :-)

I saw some smallish pop up stools in Poundland (or 99p shop, I forget which!) so think I'll get one of them.

Dips the bottom of the bag in the mud though so I tape something round it and keep everything in freezer bags inside.

Use duck tape to stick the feet of the stools to the legs, this stops the feet falling off. Once the feet fall off the stools sink into the ground really quickly and you end up in the mud

If anyone doesnt fancy sitting on a bin bag, poundland and other similar value stores have little one person picnic blankets that have a waterproof lining on one side. They roll up nice and small and stop you from having to sit on the wet floor.

I know it's a big taboo to wash your wellies under a tap - but I do it, and i'll tell you for why - there are different kinds of mud on site - the sloshy mud that is everywhere, and the deeper-lying sticky mud. the sticky mud takes a couple of hours to accumulate on yer boots, but when it does it weighs them down and hampers your movement. I wash it off, and put up with the dirty looks and tuts.

Bring ziplock/sandwich bags to protect your phone, wallet, electronic items etc when you're out and about. I've broken two ipods by keeping them in my bag when out and it's tipped it down...

Fold your wellie tops over before you go to bed to prevent water getting in them.

Bring lots of socks, long ones too if possible to avoid wellie chafe. Bring a camping chair with a carry bag for the daytime (you can use it at the campsite if it doesn't all turn to soupy-mud.

Bin liners are your friend - makeshift poncho and evening seat!

Put all your clothes in a bin liner to keep them dry. Put all your bedding in a bin liner before you go out for the night, in case it rains and leaks while you're out.

Bring two jumpers / hoodies so if you do get wet one might have a chance of drying out while you wear the other one. Actually bring two bras for this purpose too!

As it's going to be hot and possibly wet, what sort of clothes shall I take ( sorry festival newbie) , I've got shorts, tights, tops, 2 jumpers, water proofs, lots of socks and some pjs, am I going in the right direction ?? Thanks guys

I always wear shorts when it's wet / muddy. Pants get too muddy and messy for my liking.

Plus I quite enjoy picking the dried mud off my leg hairs the morning after!
