Campervan - East

Ive hired a campervan and the man is dropping it off for me. Im in a panic incase we dont make it at the same time what will happen. Can I still park next to it?

Does anyone know how itll work with him towing it, dropping it off and the getting out?

This Hill of Death is tormenting me too, can anyone shed of light on it? Is it really that bad and where exactly is it?

Thanks :)

When you say park next to it, do you mean with a car? If you are not towing a caravan then they won't let you in to the campervan fields, it is strictly caravan towing cars and campervans. You'll need to buy a car park ticket and then walk from the car parking areas to wherever your man drops the campervan off.

Hill of death is really not that bad at all, for a healthy adult. Unless you have underlying medical conditions you'll be fine. Anybody with mobility issues would find it a challenge but otherwise you'll be fine.

You can get it dropped off at the campervan site, but I guess you would already need to be there to meet it, which means either driving & parking in the car park & walking over to the campervan area or getting a bus to site.

Hill of Death is much over-exaggerated. It's about the same as the climb to the Stone Circle. Take it gently, pause and enjoy the views. The view from the top is tremendous.

Mind you, can be a bit tricky after a lot of rain but that's not going to be an issue this year. (NFRNFC).

The one thing to remember if you are in the CV Fields is that you exit the festival site when you leave to return to the CV field. You will then need to re-enter the next day and show your ticket each time. So guard and take care of your ticket if you're in the CV Fields as you will need it throughout the festival.

Also, in theory, you could be subject to a security search each time you go in so be sensible.

hill of death is steep but not very long, and the main problem is pulling all your gear back up it with a hangover on Monday morning. As you will be in the campervan field above it you will only need to climb it with your daily bag each evening on your return to the van. As someone else said unless you have health problems it shouldn't be the stuff of nightmares.

And in addition, you'll get a pass out each time you exit the festival to the van. Don't lose it as you need to hand it in when you next go in.

Uh oh! Not an option for us to leave that late, we have a ferry to catch at 14.30 on Monday, same as last year. Maybe we were just very lucky last year leaving West at 8am? We were in loads of time for the ferry too.

Might do better to leave East even earlier this year if it's that hectic!?

Have left from East the last several years at whatever time we woke up and then had everything packed up. Never in any rush to get anywhere, but the traffic to get out of the site is never that bad these days. Takes a little while to get out of the fields if you are unlucky in the way that the queues form themselves, but has never taken us too long to get off site leaving around midday.

Just don't be in a rush to get anywhere and it's all fine.

My dad had bad knees and a blue disabled badge. He can go shopping and walk around so long as he rests and isn't stood still. My mother is in her 70s. They are both for and quite active. Is the hill of death going to kill them? ESP if its muddy? Thanks!

Legh you say campervan but also say the contractor is towing it? Do you mean a caravan? With a campervan there is no way you can park a car next to it but with a caravan that you didn't tow yourself? Hmmm... I wonder how the rules on that work? Will they let you in with your car that (maybe) clearly has no towbar? Best bet is to buy a car park ticket I guess.

    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
