Pixies vs Metallica

Really can't imagine them clashing. You couldn't describe them as similiar but the glasto crowds who would want to watch one would surely heavily overlap with the other.

If metallica headline the pyramid i can see puxies subbing other, like the pumpkins, with a more recent act on after.

Haha, fair

I don't mind Metallica though, and they're one of those bands I wouldn't go and see in their own show, unlike Pixies, so Metallica it is. I pretty much despise the Black Album though, which is a problem when they'll most probably feature it heavily.

The more Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning they play, the better

I saw the Pixies at the Isle of Wight a few years back and despite them being just the type of band I should like and actually really looking forward to seeing, they ended up being one of the biggest disapointment I have ever witnessed. So much so that I rated them on my awful scale as down there with Girls Aloud whom I was unfortunate enough to see between acts at the V Festival. Each to their own and differing opinions and tastes make what you appreciate special to you, but if the clash was either the Pixies or the band from the Doritos advert, the cheesy Mexicans would get my attention every time. For me at least they would be genuinely playing their stuff because they believe and enjoy doing it, not in my opinion just cynically cashing in on genres of music and on stage attitude they have no real affinity for. To me they are a bit like alternative rocks formulaic answer to Spinal Tap, without the humour or irony.
