Last night she slept through (11.30-6.30) for first time!! Couldn't believe it?! Fingers crossed she does the same again tonight!

I was just going to post on an earlier comment you made about a routine for Willow. My ex and I tried all sorts with our 5 but the only advice I can give is let Willow lead but carry on as normal. We found that with our household the baby would soon fall into line, a deliberate action or not. There are only 18months to 2 years between siblings so a routine is paramount and I guess baby can feel this.

Ha! Oh dear! One of my brothers didn't have a name for almost a week, so I'd be following in a grand tradition!

Took even longer here (about 2 weeks). I had to stay in hospital for nearly a week, and all the midwives called him "baby nameless" . :D

We have ended up following a routine but letting Willow decide what time it begins and ends. So whenever she wakes up in the evening, I feed her and then we play for roughly an hour or until she shows signs of getting bored and/or hungry again. We keep the lights bright and then take her for a bath. When she returns from the bathroom the lights are dimmed and the tv is quiet and we put her lullaby CD on. I feed her again and we play quietly with her or just talk to her until she shows signs of being tired. We put her to bed. Sometimes she goes to bed at 8pm, tonight she is still up now. We are not too fussed about time for now but hope that by sticking to this night time routine (*ritual?) she will learn/understand what comes next in an evening as she grows older. To be honest it was more about getting US into sticking to a routine, rather than her lol.

My big baby had her pre-school boosters today so I sympathise! Feels awful at the time but very much worthwhile. I had my whooping cough booster at the same time so am feeling extra sympathetic with a dead arm!

So I have managed to express 8oz over the last six days and tonight's the night. Mummy is going to play out! (Tea at my friends who lives just down the road and I'm driving, ha). I'm looking forward to it but even before I've left the house it feels weird to be leaving her behind...awwww.

Friend who was due 16/12 gave birth in early hours to a gorgeous baby girl. I've told this one to stay put til Christmas Day, then it's free to come out whenever it wants! We have a midwife, a nurse and a health visitor all attending Christmas Dinner just in case she has other ideas!!

  • 3 weeks later...

She's here :) Born in a corridor on a wooden palette/trolley thing, narrowly avoiding the car park, within less than a couple of minutes of arriving at hospital! We're heading home shortly to recover from the shock!

    • The Radio Dept.?! That's a surprise to me, they haven't toured in like 8 years. Hopefully they will announce some more shows.
    • I was assuming September in Stirling might have a different issue tbf in the form of it just pissing it down.
    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.
