Hi all,

Can anyone who stayed there last year give me the low down on how good it is?

Location relative to car park

How far was the campsite beyond the fence?

Marks out of 10 for value?

I didn't stay there last year, but did when it was MyHab so can answer the first 2.

Car Park was only a few minutes walk from the tents. No more than 5 minutes I'd say.

probably about 10 minutes walk from Pennards Hill gate to the campsite, but thats mainly cos its up hill. its not really that far.

£100 per person for six nights is pretty reasonable I think. I'd say 8/10 for value, would be more if there were better sinks / running water, enough toilets and they hadn't forgotten that people might still be using the loos on Sunday and Monday and emptied them.

I'd give it a 7/10

I'm knocking a point off for the toilets and two points off for the walk to and from the rail way track,too long for my liking but we were right at the back so only a couple of mins to the car.

The bell tent was good though,probably too good,missed a lot of the festival by getting in 10 hours sleep a night rather than the usual 3 and it took us ages to leave every day as you cant just pop back.

And the hot showers were bliss.

Good bar an all,proper Cider!

I'm hoping that enough people complained about the lack of loos and sinks that they'll have sorted it out next year!

maybe the toilets are so bad because those people staying there have such a sense of entitlement at having paid an obscene cost to stay there, they feel like they dont need to clean up their foul mess after them

seems too much of a coincidence that both worthy view and the teepees suffered from dirty toilets, whereas the toilets in the areas the normal people were just fine, as per usual.

In short, clean up after yourselves you spoilt toffee nosed twits

Off-site camping

For the first time the Festival is offering ticket holders, a range of pre-erected off-site camping facilities in custom-made and pre-erected Festival accommodation. So festival goers can travel to and from the five day festival with nothing but their bags.

The camping site, which looks out over the Festival, for at least 4,000 people is offered in addition to the tipi camping and will be located a short walk from the Festival site (up the hill above the Stone Circle field) The Worthy View car park is in a dedicated field, a short walk from the accommodation.

The Festival no longer endorses any independent off site camping providers because of repeated problems like this with off-site camping facilities at Glastonbury which were not run by the Festival. Organisers will no longer give out any information about any unofficial off-site accommodation providers. The Festival recommends festivalgoers only use the official accommodation they now provide.

In order to make an accommodation booking festival goers must already have a valid ticket booking for Glastonbury 2013. Everyone who wishes to stay at Worthy View must have a valid Festival ticket. All prices are for five nights - Wednesday June 26th to Sunday June 30th, inclusive, and do not include Festival tickets.

There are various tent types on offer:

Pre-erected classic scout-style tent - £250 for 5 nights

2 person Cloud House - £300 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

2 person 9ft Yurt - £300 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

4 person Bell Tent - £500 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

4 person Tipi Tent - £500 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

4 person 12ft Yurt - £600 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

2 person dome tent - £200 for 5 nights

4 person dome tent - £400 for 5 nights

6 person dome tent - £600 for 5 nights SOLD OUT

8 person dome tent - £800 for 5 nights

Car park tickets are priced at £25 (the accommodation is a short walk from the dedicated Worthy View carpark)

All prices are inclusive of VAT.

Actually (y'know, as someone who was there and knows what they're talking about) they were fine but didn't seem to have been emptied after Sunday morning, meaning that by Monday morning there only seemed to be about three that weren't out of service.

The lack of big tin sinks was a problem though. I would much prefer a simple bank of long drops and sinks to some mock-porcelain job which doesn't work.

And anyone who thinks £100 for six nights camping is "extortionate" presumably is stuck in an era when a pint of milk cost 10p.

Did I read on here somewhere that due to it not being up to standard of what was said to be on offer, so the people who used it this year were offered free tickets to next years festival? Or was that somewhere else on site?

I couldn't be bothered if the toilets were not up to standard, or about the steep trek up the hill, but the good nights sleep I got was well worth every penny it cost to stay at Worthy View.

I've stayed at WV for the past 4 festivals and unfortunately the loos were a nightmare this yr. The site was about 4 times bigger this yr with even less toilets than usual!

That was the toffee nosed tipi crowd. I think one of the toilets didnt get flushed or something, which ruined their festival of course, so they were given the opportunity of having tickets for next year.

Not free tickets, though I expect some of them have complained that they have had to pay for them.

The loos themselves were fine, I never even expected flushing ones. The problem was the fact they were not working and taped off, which left only a handful of loos for 1000's of people. Plus there was no water working which was a problem in itself (flushing and washing).

Long drops or portaloos would have been much better.

We're not going back there this year, not because of the toilets but because of the lack of atmosphere. To experience Glastonbury you need to be inside the fence. There will always be people that want a little 'luxury', but it depends on what you call 'luxury'. It's funny though that the campervan fields don't get slated as much as the offsite camping options...
