hey mates, I've got a question

last time I went to RW in 2012 my friends and I went on wednesday to the decatlón of brussels to buy all our stuff

this year we bring our own tent from Spain, but have to buy something to sleep in, we want to aboid going to decatlón in brussels again so...do you think this sportdirect store you say in Leuven won't be run out of stock with all that campers for the festival in the town...

I don't know, I'm just afraid of ending up sleeping on the floor, you know...

Don't think you'll have to worry about this. There also is an AS Adventure in the centre of Leuven, and the bigger supermarkets might also have some basic camping stuff in stock.

Doesn't the shop at the entrance of the A campings have some camping stuff as well? (never been there)

I never had an id-check and read nothing about them doing that this year. So I don't think you'll be banned with a ticket without your name on it.

Unlike Pukkelpop in Belgium where your identity is strictly checked and where you don't get in if you can't prove it's your name on the ticket.

Looking up this sportsdirect store in Leuven for location, it seems like it is in Brussels and not in Leuven. It is in the south-east of brussels, what would roughly gauge as 20-25 minutes away. Is that right?

Coming over from the UK for the festival. Booked up late so staying in Brussels near the North Station. Is it easy travel to and from the festival from here? Only got tickets for the Friday but still looking for the other days. Are tickets easy to pick up in and around the days of the festival? Im on the waiting list for each day but kind of gave up hope with that!

Hi, just trying to order my train from brussels to leuven but cannot see the option to order them on the E-ticket website. How do you do this or where do you go for it?

EDIT: Found out how now, if you're on the site to order tickets(the sncb one) just go to order standard train tickets from the site and there will be an option where it says standard to change that to festival and then select rock werchter. Once this has been done follow the information on the screen and it will eventually ask you for your sncb code.

Booked the tickets last night. Like how you don't have to specify a time, can just rock up and head on. Gonna be in Leuven at midday on the Wednesday  Only a solid 11 hours after my bus leaves Cork here in Ireland.

I assume its a logistical thing for wanting people to pre-book tickets for the train?

What are searches like on the way into the arena? I'd like to sneak in a little vodka/wine each day to keep down beer cost. I've never had any bother at UK festivals, however at Open'er it was impossible with military style searches going in! And is there a supermarket close by to buy beer from?

Cheers.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
