Its nothing personal but just a comment I noticed on a page that upset me. You might have heard of panti Bliss in Ireland, made a stunningly beautiful and impassioned speech about being gay and oppressed in Ireland, it got translated and went global. s/he has had oodles of support.

Turns out s/he is HIV positive and some idiot made a comment "Panty Bliss has AIDS, I am glad to report." and it upset me cos I clicked into their page and saw a plethora of other hateful comments.

I wish i had the ability, capacity, wit, intelligence, self-confidence and the oratory skills to be able to speak with such passion, reason and humanism as Panti Bliss.

I really do.

I haven't. I wish i had, but i haven't.

The best i, we, anyone can do is be the best we can do as a human fucking being to not fuck over any other human being...no, 'being', living being. It's hard given the modern world, but we can try out best.

The world makes it difficult, makes it almost impossible for us to even succeed.

We may not be able to succeed alone, individually...but we can each of us TRY individually...make an individual, PERSONAL effort in our own small way.

Even within institutions or within the confines of our own life. We can TRY.

IMHO.

I'm trying my best to strive to attempt to live a life that affords me - at last...at MY VERY last - to shuffle off in a state of grace.

I read a little quote, a poem - and you all by now might know i love a 'pome'! - and i'd like to quote it here...if I can beg your forgiveness and tolerance (please).

(who should be denied the right to leave this place with this thought):

My candle burns at both ends

It will not last the night

But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends

It gives a lovely night

[probably all a load of bollocks, but i'm amongst friends here...soon to be friends 2.0]

Cheers for the hugs and I'm glad I shared Panti with a few more people because people should see that speech.

Anyway, one of my favourite poems by one of my favourite authors (irish of course)

HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths,

Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

Of night and light and the half-light,

I would spread the cloths under your feet:

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

You cannot tolerate me

Nor stomach me any more

My life, my loves, my morals

Even whilst i'm on death's door

My hand is on the handle, of

The door from this life to the next

But i know you will not miss me

But i know that i'm the best

The best that i can be

The hardest i have tried

The sum of everything that life

Has tried to throw at me

The shape i am, the way i am

The universe it meant

To mould me in this fashion

A product of it's environment

So sleep well my friend, I'm diff'rent;

But please don't be afraid

I try to care not what you think of me

I am me - just how i'm made.

And now i leave you with this final thought;

Are you so perfect and so right?

You speak as if you are my friend

I bet you sleep so sound at night.

Alas the night will take you

At the cosmos's bequest

And follow me unto the void

Where i am peacefully at rest

Then reflect upon these silly words

This poem or this song

Whilst we reside as dust and dirt

And realise...you were wrong.
